First vRS service cost?

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is an FAQ but roughly how much should the first 10,000 mile vRS service be? I'm at 9k in 3 months (!) so had better book it in sharpish but being a tad broke this month hope it won't be really more than a filter and oil change?

Cheers!

Mike

A search would have furnished you with the result.

Should be 'around' £100.

Thanks Lummox! I can't remember a service on my Scoob being less than £400 so that's more like it :D

I should have explained that I never had a main agent charge me less than 400 but then I found Len who runs Subaru4you and the bills have plummeted, so I was comparing main agents of both makes. :)

I was comparing main dealer for main dealer! :D I then discovered TSL and Scoobysport, although my servicing costs went up and the car started acquiring shiny bits lol!

Ha! It's hard not to get the modding bug :D

This thread is quite timely for me as my car is now due the first 10,000 mile service. I've phoned 2 dealers this morning around the Newcastle area and the cheapest Ive got so far is £200 (if I knew how to do shocked smiley faces then this is where I would have placed 10 of them !!!)

Surely this cant be right ?????

Ask them how they reached that figure. If you're doing 20k a year, you'll only need a lube service at 10k (70-80 quid). If you're not, then you'll need a lube service + annual inspection (typically

Thanks Chris ... I'll have a got at a few VW/Seat dealers and see what they can come up with. The car is 1 year old this July so only talking 10,000 annual miles.

In that case, many dealers will want to do both the lube service (based on the mileage covered) and an annual service (because it is close to being due anyway). That puts you in

I took mine back to Clist and Rattle in Flax Burton where I orginally bought mine from and we had a pre-arranged deal that they would do it for

Hmm. Mine is in today for it's first service having done under 10k in the year. They've just rung to tell me the car is ready and it's £152.

Got a lovely HTP loan car - good god it's slow. Handling is better balanced due to the lack of pigiron in the engine bay and it makes a fun noise.

£130 was the cost of my first service and that was in the sunny south

My local dealer can't fit me in for the oil and filter change for 3 weeks! Quoted £85. I popped in to the Newbury Skoda and asked for a price, £130 ish, have my pick of days.

TBH, I am seriously thinking of taking it to my Subaru specialist but even if everything is done as per instructions will my warranty be affected?

Hmmm.

my 1st 10k service was £89 for just the oil change service in yeovil.

to avoid warrenty hassels i'd probably stick with skoda dealers...

having said that once i'd started changing bits on my old impreza i used len at subaru4you, did a great job even before moving into his new place. :)

I popped in to see Len today, top mechanic :)

So long as the garage is VAT registered, uses genuine OEM parts and follows the service schedule there will not be any warranty problems. Wouldn't have any worries if Len's doing the work :D
