Octavia vrs hatchback 2022

Featured Replies

Cars being built and should be with me in 6 weeks, I'm looking to purchase rear bumper protector as I have 3 dogs jumping in/out.

Can anyone point me in direction or even give me measurements.

Thanks in advance.

Yes i seen this on another thread but the site is not working for me, I put in make/model and I won't search.

I had dealer fitted bumper lip protector fitted at handover on my Mk 4... went for black over clear and it looks great with silver paint and gloss highlights. Salesman said he’d  fit it purely for the look which ties in with the exterior black highlights. I’ll post pictures later! Only cost about £50 fitted. Recommended

I have the Richard Grant bumper protector ...simple to fit and looks like OE1589968577_UntitledRGA.thumb.jpg.fcb3dbb1f1c915a0697081053d6fc0a8.jpg

Hi there. Did you receive VIN yet? how do you know its been build at the moment?

I got a self healing Lumar paint protection film professionally installed on my rear bumper. Does not ruin the looks of the car and it is very hardly noticeable. Also, I think it is a better choice than the bumper protectors offered on the market as you could extend it below the bumper edge, so you have the whole loading area covered. A picture with the film installed:

That's actually a real thing. The plastic film absorbs the impacts and scratches and instead of tearing just compresses, after that it comes back to the original shape when it warms up (or you warm it up with something). Of course anything sharp enough to slice through plastic like butter will leave permanent damage.

@Blueallblueno9welcome to the forum.

Enjoy the car when it comes.

Do you just need a Boot Liner with a bit that flaps out for the dogs getting in and out to protect the bumper.

Maybe a rubber backed carpet runner from B&M, Home Bargains or the likes for much cheapness rather than the ones for sale for the job,

not that they are that expensive, plenty on Ebay / Amazon.

Thats actually a real misuse of the verb To Heal, I must have self healing skin because if it gets squished it returns to its original form.

What you have is a good sacrificial barrier to protect the paint whilst not hiding it so if the aesthetics are important to you it's ideal. I have a ribbed rubber Chinese one glued on with contact adhesive, my neighbours expensive self adhesive (rubber) one has not surprisingly started to lift all around the edge.

Interesting 👍
