Octavia Classic A4

Featured Replies

Hello

Took delivery of my 06 Octavia Classic A4 1.9TDi last week.

Use it as a Taxi so wiil put some miles on the clock in quick time.

My freind got one too, both came together, same models, only difference is mine has the Multi Function Display switch on the wiper stalk which is fully functual showing temp, range, fuel consuption etc, and my mates has no switch and all his shows is the clock.

Both cars are Classic A4s Can anyone put some light on this as to why they are different.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks Kevin::confused:

Thats not a standard option so you were lucky.

Best guess is that they only had a very limited supply of these and decided to give you the one that was closest to what you wanted

my dad picked one up about 3 months ago with climatronic air con but wind down windows! it has the up spec seats and door lights as well.

I suspect that they are end of line and that what ever was left in the parts bin was thrown at the cars!

How bizarre.

Still , a nice pleasant surprise

Could someone explain what the "Classic A4" means for me please ?

I read this thread title and thought it was either about Skoda-logo writing paper, or a "Was it You" spotting in Berkshire. I'm such a dumba$$.

VW use an internal code that refers to the chassis.

A series cars are the ones that use a Golf platform

4 is the 4th version , so it's referring to a Mk1 octavia , Mk4 golf , Mk1 Seat Leon etc etc.

The current Octavia and Golf are based on the A5 platform.

Oh , and classic just refers to the trim level

Thanks Alex :) Something similar to the way BMW use E36, E39 etc. etc. You learn summat new every day....
