Fabia 1 Rear Lower Suspension Arm Replacement Tutorial

Featured Replies

Hi, I have found some really good tutorials on replacing the front lower suspension arms and bushes but nothing on the rear lower suspension arms. If there is one here can someone point me to it?

Thank you

You mean rear axle beam bushes?

VW Golf here, very similar procedure....

Excellent! Yes very similar to my car. Thank you. Mot advisory reads:"Rear Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside & Offside, Front Trail Arm Bushes"

That's referring to the rear bush of the front wishbone, both sides. Post the fail code number for confirmation.

Thanks. There are 2 advisories:

  • Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside & Offside, Rear Bushes (5.3.4 (a) (i))
  • Rear Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside & Offside, Front Trail Arm Bushes (5.3.4 (a) (i))

Its confusing as the first one says "front lower... rear bushes" and the second says "rear lower ... front trail arm bushes"

My bad, sorry.

Wouldn't worry about either to be honest, see if they fail next year, then do something.

Rear axle bushes are a pita to do.

I did them on an axle sitting on a bench and it was a siege trying to get the old bushes out, without the proper tool.

Can't imagine doing them on the car.

As above best leave it until you really need to do them.
