Instrument cluster replacement EEPROM IMMO

Featured Replies

Hi I have a fault on my instrument cluster fault code: B200049 faulty control module

My car is a 2011 petrol.

It keeps making a fault noise ding and telling me there is a fault, I am unable to clear the fault or source the issue, all wires in the harness are good, and not getting much more info from vcds, all other units a free of faults.

I'd like to replace the instrument cluster, but obviously running in to the issue of immobilizer and milage correction, I've seen plenty tools online but for pre 2005 vag cars.

I've got a steady hand for soldering.

Would it be possible to get a new cluster and swap the EEPROM and IMMO chips over? Would this swap my current milage and IMMO data to the new cluster or is there more to it? Any help would be great, thanks
