Help. The heating does not heat

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a December'13 Octavia III (LHD) and the heating does not heat. I used Vagcom to check errors and I got the next one:

1 Fault Found:
328197 - Motor for Right Temperature Flap
          B108D 54 [009] - Missing Calibration / Basic Setting
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00000001
                    Fault Priority: 2
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 200

Can anyboy tells me where is located that motor please? O tell me something to fix that error.

I recalibrated yhe climatronic pressing a/c and air up buttons, but error persisted (

Thank so much

Did you try vcds to do basic settings on aircon rather than the button press sequence?

Edit. Most of the hvac items are accessed on RHD by removing glovebox and passenger seat for improved access on bigger jobs.

On LHD that's going to be drivers side trim off and possibly pedals.

However, the right side temp flap description has me a bit unsure..

I searched on Google, and I found a service manual for repairing a/c and I think that is a motor flap behind the glovebox (V159). Look at that:

I also found that video, it is not the same car, but I think is same motor temperature flap

I will try to fix it two hours later. Crossing fingers

**Edit: For what it is worth, I would try VCDS basic settings / reset first but probably the motor is dead.***

Yeah. Spot on. That is it. On fully automatic air con, there are two actuator flap motors. One on each side of the main air dist box, Which sits in the dash behind the air con control buttons.

When I first looked on the parts diagram I could only see one flap motor - on the left hand side. But that is for manual aircon, not automatic.

Also note, in trying to replace parts there appears to be two manufacturer variants in use, valeo and denso and I'm pretty sure that some of the parts are not interchangeable. The parts diagrams list both separately. I think on things like the actuator motor, some versions may have a different number of teeth so beware when sourcing.

Apparently they can be a bit of a pain to align too but your service notes should help!

Attached is a diagram to show you lay out this one is for valeo (other is denso). Right hand flap motor item 25.

Hi! accessed the motor temperature flapthat is behind the glovebox (right side). I changed climatronic temperature form Low to High  and High to Low and its moved correctly. I checkd on VCDS the movement of right and left motors temperature flaps and them moved correctly from 100% to 0.0% and viceversa.

But.. I found a strange valud in warm stop of  left temperature flap (234) The same of the right side and both for cold stop values are 0 (see the picture attached). And also you can see a new fault the I can erase with VCDS.

I upload a video changing temperature and you can see the motors temperature flaps movement but I lowered the quality to be able to upload it.

Do you think tht do a "resetting of all adaptations value" will be secure for the car and it will be a solution for my problem?

Hi!

problem found. The engine was lower than the one I was looking at. I removed that motor and it had a loose pinion. I put the pinion on the motor and tested with VCDS, there is no fault anymore, but I have to replace the motor because the pinion stopper is broken and the pinion comes loose.

Oh good work. Looking at the parts diagram there is a servo motor and a flap actuator motor. You were looking at the servo motor? You try and glue the pinion gear or otherwise new replacement required.

Thanks. I fixed the problem replacing the servomotor with one from a Golf VII. Same part number (5Q0907511K) but different manufactured. Original one was Denso and the "new" one is Valeo. It cost me €15 in a scrapyard. In a Skoda oficial service the servomotor value is 125€. Thanks for your time.

Far better to ask on the Fabia II forum than the Octavia III forum !!!
