Drivers of other car makes

If it happens at night adjust your mirrors to reflect their headlamps back at them.

I find half a pint of old engine oil out the passenger window seems to do the trick!

(only joking!)

Ive only had my VRS for 3 weeks but it does seem that people talegate more than with my previous car (a Seat Toledo). The most recent one was a Volvo XC90 who insisted on sitting 2 inches off my boot so instead of doing 34 I did 25 and when we came to a very steep hill in a 40 limit he tried to pass me on a small stretch of dual carrage way....lets put it this way at the top of the hill I slowed down again in front of him. Dont think he knew what he was following.

Washers and slowness are the best cure, although a healthy dose of smog followed by them not being able to catch a Skoda does work too.

I love driving at under 10mph as someone tailgates me, then speeding up quick and repeating till they get the message.

I noticed a massive difference in other drivers in my new vRS. With my bright yellow mk3 golf GTI I only had a person on my bumper once in a blue moon, and was hardly ever raced. Now, I get it on every journey. BMWs wanting to show me that their car is more powerful, 4x4s, the list goes on! It's only chaved up boy racer carts that show me some respect on the road (which is weird)?

The irony is that my 2.0 L 8valve pumped out 115bhp and about 120 ft/lb. anything other than a 0-60 comparison - and the vRS kicks its but.

Roll on winter so I can xenon my way through the highways & byways ;-)

Within days of having the vRS I had a girl in a Clio 172 try to race me at the traffic lights' date=' I just let her go...lets not go there about the vRS vs 172!!!! ;)[/quote']

Surely it would be pretty close in a straight line!!

Opens a can of worms!!:shhh:

Cliosport forums were very upset by the Fabia vs Clio thread a couple of days back

Genuinely, really upset :D

Well it's not only cars that dislike being overtaken.

Yesterday I was on a dual carriageway, overtook a dark Ford Transit and a not unreasonable 80mph. About a mile down the road I saw the Transit approaching fast in the rear-view mirror. He then proceeded to follow me at a distance of about 6inches from the bumper. So I pulled over to let him by and then... he cuts right across my front into a slip-road whilst at the same time gesturing that I like to please myself!

Was it my vRS or something else?

Go figure.

Just to update coming back from Irvines skoda on the m5 at the weekend just gone a person in a focus estate obviously didn't like being overtaken by my dad in his octy as after we had overtaken him doing about 90(ish) and pulled back in he then proceeded to go past us and then pull in front and slow back down again.

My dad wasn't particulalry bothered as he came off on the next exit but its just wierd that some people just can't stand being overtaken.

Exactly. It's nothing to do with you being in a Skoda, it's just that they don't like being overtaken :D

Chris

im normaly doing the overtaking to be honest! but in all truth' date=' i think people are just get more ignorant as time goes on.

i have a little rule, if i give way to someone and they dont say thankyou i give them the finger plain and simple, harsh but manners dont cost a thing.[/quote']

Thats one way to get a kicking I spose :thumbdwn:

"Thats one way to get a kicking I spose "

well maybe people will have some manners next time. ive been doing it 5 years now and no such kicking!

i would say 85% people are poilte, the other 15% can go fornicate themselves with an iron stick. a quick thankyou is all it takes.
