Drivers of other car makes

Featured Replies

I notice that a lot of drivers in VW/Audi and a few other makes seem to enjoy driving rather close to my rear bumper or trying to race me. I've only noticed this since having my Furby vRS, does anyone else have a similar experience?

I also think that some people on the motorway have the attitude 'I'm not being overtaken by a Skoda'.

In the majority of cases I just ignore them, but sometimes it's nice to show them what a performance Skoda can do!

Yes this is true. Every driver on the road see's a Skoda badge and turns into Michael Schumacher and wants a race.

Chris

In all my cars this is the one I've had the most hassle with from other drivers. Even my old paxo PITFA didn't attrach the same attention.

Not sure if it's a badge or the fact that some owners believe it's the fastest car in the world! :P

Me I just chuckle and leave them to it............it's their fuel they are wasting!

Kids in Paxos, older BMWs are a pain but the worst have to be Landrover freelander/Disco drivers, they are just plain dangerous. I think they must sell them with a free course in "How to drive an Urban assualt vehicle"

You will also find that people will just pull out on roundabouts and then look surprised when you nearly go into the side of them.

The only leeway you will get is from other Skoda owners.

Get exactly the same.Drivers right up my @rse.

Mind you,I do drive at 20 mph everywhere.Proper skoda stereotype me.

Get confused with gears 2-5 so I leave them alone:D

On the other hand I do get a lot of old boys and old dears let me out of junctions etc. I'm not sure if it's pitty or that people of that age admire Skoda's!

Within days of having the vRS I had a girl in a Clio 172 try to race me at the traffic lights, I just let her go...lets not go there about the vRS vs 172!!!! ;)

ive experienced this no matter what car i drive. its just what some people do

I always seem to get agro from Renult Clio owners for some reason. Also to a lesser extent 4x4 owners. I feel like pulling in to park without indicating when they are tailgating.

im normaly doing the overtaking to be honest! but in all truth, i think people are just get more ignorant as time goes on.

i have a little rule, if i give way to someone and they dont say thankyou i give them the finger plain and simple, harsh but manners dont cost a thing.

Tbh the only things that ****es me off is tailgating and being cut up.

I get it with both my cars, though the Scooby attracts more of it. I've (in the main) gotten bored of annihilating TDi repmobiles on the motorways (in 4th gear) as you can see the fuel gauge drop from it! Just move over and let them have their "victory"

That said, I'm usually trundling along on the inside lane conserving fuel anyway, as motorway driving in that is so dull...

With the vRS, I find that a lot of the passengers in the offending cars peer out at what the car is, as they finally catch up and overtake... Must surprise a few :)

They is no comparison really anyway, 2 very different cars ;)

If someone gets too close, I either wash my windscreen for about 30 minutes,:finger: or change up a couple of gears if I can, and hoof it so that their view of the road ahead is obscured by clag.

Tend to leave fluro waistcoat on rear parcel shelf, or throw it there at next set of traffic lights. Normaly works a treat so long as RM insignia isn't shiwing ;)

Im thinking about getting shut of the skoda badge off the back of my furbie

Due to buffoons constantly seeing their **** when theyve been overtaken by a skoda

Same experience here regardless of what car I am driving.

Although I must say when I drive my dads octy it doesn't happen as much.

If someone's tailgaiting i usually just boot it and leave them covered in Diesel soot, they usually don't come back for more!

Yup have to agree, although what car I seem to drive depends on the type of other car tries to park in my boot.

With the Fabia VRS it was Saxo's, Golf GTI wannabe's etc... Since I've got the Saab it tends to be Mercs, BMW's and, sorry to say Kenny, A4/6's trying to prove a point.

I'm not sure this has even happened to me

I usually leave most people disappearing as a little spec in my rear view mirror :D

My favorite trick is to let tailgaiters come really close and then stomp on the brake for less than a second. This makes the car lurch a bit and the brake lights come up, making the driver behind think that I've stomped on the brakes really hard, he overbrakes cos he already knows that he is too close to me and actually stomps on his pedal, and he doesnt have the time to realise that i'm pulling away. This is best used when there is a truck or a bus behind the idiot, and also when u have some free space ahead to hightail it ouf of there. Also use only in cities at low speeds, else the poor guy can get more than just a smashed boot. Also there is a very fine line between shocking him and getting your own boot smashed in. Real balancing act...

Using the washers is a good one I've used before, it really annoys them!

No good if you've spent ages making your car all shiny though!

even better if you have headlight washers;)
