Citigo brake problém, shaking in high speed + strange noise and near no brake in emergency braking

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have strange problem with brakes. The car just passed MOT with no issues. Just fitted new front brake pads and 4 new balanced tires. Problem persist.

1. There is strong shaking of car when braking (even light braking) in high speeds (80km+). No strange sound just car shaking.

2. When I do quick brake even on low speed, there is horrible clicking noise from front of the car and car is nearly no braking. This is happening very sporadically (3times in 10000 km)

Any ideas what it can be? Thank you all

It may be a problem with the hub or bearing, or a bush in the suspension, but the bearings & bushes should've been noticed in MOT if faulty.

Did you change disk rotors or not? Could be them.

Were the previous front tyres evenly worn? Could be geometry.

Also check OBD for error codes relating to ABS, if you get "nearly no braking"

if the car has done some miles it could be distorted discs (just replace them),

but i would pop the front wheels off, and double check for a mistake ,

and if everything is loose, and check all is in the right place .
