Possible Climatronic Problem

Featured Replies

I think I might have a problem with the Climatronic system. 01 Y reg vRS done 46k.

Get in the car and start then engine, and on a really hot day like today the air con comes on at full blast, and then after a minute or so it slows right down for a split second before coming back again. At first I though it was when there was a drop in engine revs, but today I notice it did it under acceleration.

If it is a problem it needs reporting ASAP because the car only has 1 month left on the warrenty...

That's normal. I don't know what it's doing (changing to / from recirc?) but mine does it too.

Is that in full AUTO mode where the Climatronic decides what fan speed, vents etc to use?

Yep, always run it full auto at 21 degrees.

I've also notice it has done it once in manual as well...

Boing...

So is it a case of they TADT?

Our old L & K was like that, Would do it in manual if you selected windscreen demist as this selects quikest option, I think in auto as you describe then would come on at full blast then temp sensors sense cold air so cut back then start up again as temp data is processed from inside the car and is averaged out. If you see what I mean?

I always override full AUTO operation by selecting which vents and fan speed I want.
