Hi All

I am new here, recently purchased a 02 plate Octavia VRS & am well impressed, stumbled accross this site whilst looking for details on changing the rear pads, is there a guide anywhere or is there anything I should be aware of before I start

Regards

Alex

You will need to buy a piston winder to retract the piston back into the caliper. You can get them from Halfrauds for about £15. It is nigh on impossible without one.

Welcome to Briskoda. :D Try using the Search facility - I am sure someone has posted a DIY guide.

A strong iron bar does the trick.

Hiya , as has been said , the brake winder is a must.

I got mine from Halfords and managed the job without too much trouble.

Where in the country are you , someone may have one you can borrow.

Thanks all for the welcome & help with the rear brakes managed to borrow a winder from a friend who works for a VAG main dealer, was an easy job with that.

Would have used the search facility but couldn't find it - lol I would imagine most topics have been discussed in great detail at some time or other, which is the case on most car forums I have had a couple of performance cars my last being an E30 M3 which has to be the best handling car I have ever driven loved it to bits but not what you would call practical & seeing as I have 4 kids she had to go however I am extremely pleased with my Skoda fantastic car & so much room perfect compromise between performance car & a family hatch couldnt see myself in something boring like a mondeo or vectra BORING I ike different & must have power forgotten how much I missed Turbo power mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm turbo, sorry starting to babble

Again thanks for your help

Regards

Alex
