Attention of @pab567 if the link above didn't reach you.

You may need to supply VIN if requested, so a good idea to have this ready if asked @EdK

@EdK I sent you link to MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0253T via PM. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can be activated bu authorized Skoda dealer or the unit can be hacked however this requires unit to be open and soldered as some files in EMMC must be patched.

Hi thanks I got that message. What can I do with the attached files? Sorry I'm a complete dummy with this

My usual copy/paste reply if this helps...

Download with PC

Extract with 7-Zip to the root of a FAT32 or exFAT formatted SD Card (or USB drive if you car does not have SD Card)

Remove all SD Cards and USB drives from the car

Insert firmware into the car

Have battery support or start the engine so the car has stable power during the update, do not start the engine during update process

Press and hold down the Menu or Setup button for 10 seconds to enter the Engineering menu, locate page where Software Train is found, and press that update button there

Leave the firmware in the car until you see success screen after a reboot, then you can remove it

Thanks for that. I will be able to do all of that no problem. What will this do for me? Sorry as I said I'm clueless here.

There's no changelog provided.

But usually more stability and bug fixes, this might make the volume change less laggy for example/

Just reading through this post @pab567and @varooom maybe what the op was getting at when using the term "upgrade" was thinking about physical hardware upgrades. E.g. mib 2.5, active amp, speakers. There would be aftermarket offerings as well like the Focal 2 way split speakers and amp which would beef things up quite a lot sound stage wise.

Yes I'm interested in maybe buying a new head unit or unlocking the smartkey on the one installed already if possible or worth doing. I like the car my only issue is the stereo is very basic.

Despite SmartLink, what are the other features you miss?

It's just that really I'd like to be able to just use apps via the head unit, I know I can use my phone via Bluetooth but I'd prefer to just have it all at ease from main screen
