Standard Fabia VRS. Does it understeer or oversteer

Featured Replies

They do different things, it's not fair to really compare them outright, the bar will largely effect pitch whereas the kit will effect both.

In terms of value I would say it is better and I would get the bar over the kit any day, you spend

Coilovers will mean less demand is made of the standard brakes (there is less weight shift under braking towards the front) so you might find with coilovers, you don't feel the need to upgrade the brakes. :D

Ha! Someone commented on the Saloon being tail happy, try driving one with new front tyres and old rear tyres (still legal), with a boot full of tools but really does tend to slide around a bit! Glad someone else noticed the saloon, in fact I'm glad someone has atcually has driven a saloon.

I now have this image of an old Western town with a dusty main street and a building with swing doors sporting the name "Skoda Saloon"

That varment ain't from round these parts....

I am a complete coward when it comes to high speed cornering and will only ever brake in a straight line, i've been like that ever sinced i owned a Fiat Uno with a HOLE in the axle which meant the left rear wheel stepped sideways whenever cornered hard!

You should only brake in a striaght line anyway.

It's a slightly better Drive than the hatchback all together, but it's the look of it

Do JabbaSport fit the rollbar for the price quoted on their site? How long does it take?

And does this do anything to the warranty of the car?

Hi

Persistent understeer in neutral throttle or on throttle cornering, a little lift off oversteer if done subtely, snap oversteer if done clumsily. Trail braking also works well, you need to be very quick to catch it before the transition but it does give plenty of warning.

Chris

All cars understeer driver skill and weight transfer at the right moment make it oversteer,The fabia has predictable understeer and does not handle has bad as some people make out,im talking corner entry here

Cupra bushes then?

Which one are different and give a benefit?

My mother in law fabia sure do understeer. But, is surprisingly easy to control in the rain. Because of the ABS LFB doesnt work as well as in my car, but the handbrake does the trick.

Driving the fabia on the moutain in the rain seems like you're rallying, need to be quick enough as you need to keep adjusting the hand brake in almost every corner. Otherwise you just have to slow down:thumbdwn:

Driving in the dry...well, the average fabia as a really soft suspension and using hand brke on consecutive corners gets dangerous.
