So there is a god after all....I presume this constitutes leaving the scene of an accident - what penalty does that carry?

Have concluded that 4*4's should not be allowed in car parks, should have to park in special pens for idiots.

Mind you, at least the 3 Series Beemer is getting less of a bad rep now that all the to$$ers have moved over to 4*4's.

Update: Police have viewed CCTV footage, spoken to the other party (who has admitted they did it) and passed details on to my insurance company to pursue claiming back costs.

It wasn't a 4x4 by the way............

Nice one

I haven't, but the Hospital have and the Police will have. Can't give it to me due to the Data Protection Act, so I have been informed.

Sorry but that's ********. They can't give you the video but they can write down the reg. and give it to you.

OTOH if you and your insurance company are happy and the ins. co. have got the details then, no problem...

J.

I am glad to hear they found the culprit. I hope they are prosecuting for leaving the scene as well?

Well, after a lot of hassle my car actually goes in next Tuesday to get repaired.... the insurance company have been an absolute nightmare to say the least - it even took a morning on the phone to get them to fax the authorisation through to my chosen Garage. Swiftcover....... don't even go there they are :pants:

On the down side the :fap: who reversed into me has now said they didn't do it (even though they admitted it to the Police, after being clearly seen reversing in to my car on the CCTV) so I am having to chase for a DVD with the CCTV footage on, and the Police report, just to prove they did it to their insurance company thus ensuring they will pay out. Beggers belief dosen't it !!!!!!!!!!

if i was that bad a driver that i couldnt see a big saab in my mirrors id admit it through sheer disgrace upon myself. some people are just scum mo fo's but thats life sadly, genuine honest people who would leave their details always end up with this sort of crap that youve had to go through, hope all ends up ok though mate

I'm glad they were caught on CCTV, big relief, how's it all going at the minute?

:bump:

Well I returned home from work to day to find a letter from my insurers Solicitor's.... yes it got that far, it appears my final letter pointing out a few facts about the defence that the other party had lodged at the County Court had done the trick and they had finaly given in.

The other party admitted liability and I have a cheque for my excess on its way in the post as well as my NCB back :cool2:

So Mr X from Blackpool :fap: ,you drove off after causeing a load of damage to my car without having the balls to own up, and even after I caught up with you, via the CCTV and a visit from the Police, you you still had the nerve to deny it.... now you have lost your NCB and had to cough up an excess. How does it feel to be a :loser:

Edit: see this thread for further discusion/frustration on this topic;

And this year's award for the best use of smilies goes to...

Congratulations, I bet your well chuffed.

Glad it has now ben sorted.

They should be prosecuted for wasting police and court time as well!

Just as a slight aside to this thread, what is it that you all have against 4x4 owners? Some people who own them do actually use them for the purpose for which they were built, ie towing or off roading or as working vehicles. I really dont see how you can tar all 4x4 owners with the same brush, saying they are all complete ***** and should not be allowed in car parks.

:woohoo:

Nice result!

:orb_party

congrats mate, sounds like a similar tale i went thru. although i was there when the did it. was only CCTV that saved me.

do they not get done with driving away from scene of an accident? :)

God knows if they got done, that's up to the Police - I get the feeling they haven't but I'm not that bothered.... they have been proved a liar via Civil proceedings and that will do me as I have my excess back and my NCB :)
