Electronic Driver's seat fault? Mk3 Business SE 2.0tdi

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all,

Went out to the car this morning and the seat was fully forward and raised to maximum height. Tried the set number and tried adjusting the position leavers but no luck. Switched off and back on a couple of times. Seat comes back to life, but then randomly moves forward. A few more restarts and I gained some control over it, managed to push the seat back to get me in, but the height adjust wouldn't work until suddenly it did about 30 secs later. Had a spin round my back streets, a couple of times the seat tried to wind forward but I braced and the seat gave up trying that. Eventually I got the seat where I wanted it and it seems ok now, but lumbar support is not responding and control levers are patchy.

Is my car haunted or is this an easy fix?

Hopefully a loose connection. Is it in warranty?  If not, ask an automotive electrician to have a look?

Worse case, it might need a new seat base plus motors etc.

My passenger seat was making odd noises on being moved back (was fine forwards and up/down) as if the motor was on the way out, and Skoda replaced the whole seat base.

Good luck.

Live data will need to be checked to see if the switch pack is faulty and supplying an always forward condition.

Once live data is checked you can move on from there whether that is wiring and switch checks or a stuck relay inside the module
