Anti roll bar bushings questions?

Featured Replies

I need to change anti roll bar bushing because of noise they make. I have two question regarding this topic.

Is there specified torque value for the screws?

Do i need to lubricate bushings with rubber neutral grease?

Torque is VERY low, just hand tight. No grease needed, rubber is self lubricating.

Torque setting.....

Don't think it's strictly necessary to use new bolts but it's up to you.

With old bolts I wouldn't torque them like this- this is way too much.

Bushes must be chosen correctly. Idea is not to take 18mm (example) bush for 18mm bar. Bush must be smaller and parts list indicates for which diam.bar which diam.bush should be used.

Fair enough. I just do them by feel anyway.

Iirc genuine arb bushes for these are more or less one size fit all.

Just remember when I got some for mine off work we only stock the one bush.

They're only a few euro.

Got spurious ones and they wouldn't fit, way too small.

Some squish is fine.

Not a fun job to do but not hard.
