Broadband supplier gone bust

As for MAC number i presume you mean mac address? If so' date=' start a command prompt and type :

ipconfig /all

and there it is. p[/quote']I tried that and a black box appeared on the screen for less than a second while the command ran. How do I keep it there so that I can read the info?

it should stay on the screen if you're in DOS.

I'm with Eclipse (www.eclipse.net) and haven't had any major problems that wouldn't have affected any ISP in the 2 years I've been with them.

They regularly top the adslguide charts.

They do 2 rates - one signs you up for a year, the other signs you up for a month at a time. The customer services are pretty good, and may be able to help with the MAC problems - you actually speak to a human!

Cheers

Ben

Do start - run - cmd , then hit enter

Now you can run ipconfig

Am I missing something here but why would you need a MAC address to change your Broadband supplier ? I understood all they require is your BT (landline) number.

I am with Tiscali ( Worldonline prior to Tiscali taking over) and, although I appreciate others have had problems, I have never had any complaints with their service in nearly 6 years.

Currently they offer 1mb unlimited download (soon to be 2MB) for

right ok. only thing I ever needed to migrate from one supplier to another was my PID number. seems like a lot has changed in 4 years.

anyways. anyone anywhere looking for a new isp go here www.adslguide.org.uk

This site allows you to rate and compare all the isp's available.

If recommending a supplier I would have to say that Nildram were awesome last time I had adsl. Customer service was probably the best I have had from a company. Even down to when I was migrating to them from BT and BT had no clue what migration was (even though they created the procedure) Nildram took it all over and got everything they needed.

As for connection, it was miles quicker then the connection I had before.

I am talking about adsl when you could only get 512k, so its a while ago.

You don't need a MAC code to change suppliers, you need a MAC code to port your service from one to another.

You could cancel your service and then sign up to another provider but this means you would be without net access for about a week.

I use Zen after trying GayOHell and Plus$hite. Zen rocks my socks  You pays for it, but damn what a service you get!!!!! No fair usage policy, no connection drops, no throttling just pure unadulterated freedom!!!!
