Anybody fitted aftermarket heated seats to a Kamiq

Featured Replies

My wife has a bad back and as a consequence has always enjoyed the heated seats on our Yetis. She now feels that she wants an automatic and  after trying an Arona and a T-Cross, she has decided on a Kamiq . We are struggling to find a second hand Kamiq with heated seats and the other required goodies, but have been told that a local auto electrics operation advertises "Retro fitted heated seats available for most vehicles".

Has anyone fitted their own, or had fitted, heated seats? If so what was your experience and would you recommend?

We live near Shrewsbury so if you have any recommendations for local fitters, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

for that purpose, I'd probably just get a 12v or USB heated pad or cover, easier and cheaper.

Once had a Seat Leon, thats exactly what I purchased ( set pads) and the 12v "lighter socket" on the Kamiq is in a more conveinant position too that you plug into.

The 12v is probably the easiest solution. Retrofitting (original) should also be possible. There are shops that provides the complete cable set for these kind of things, for example: Stoelverwarmingsharnas voor Skoda Fabia NJ, Rapid NH, Scala NW1, Kamiq NW4 (kufatec.com). Besides the cable set, you also need a different climate control panel, original heated seat matts and the control module for the heated seats.

These guys are excellent, however I felt they were expensive.

A cheaper solution might to be replace the wife for one who does not require heated seats. 😋

The current SE-L has them as standard - don't know when they started being fitted though.

On the facelift just coming out, they're optional again.

That must have been a very short standard item as when I bought my present SEL in 2020 they were an option.

Found a Jan 22 article which says:

"The Kamiq range is also being boosted with the introduction of a new SE L Executive model. Replacing the previous SE L model, the new trim level adds more equipment, including 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, rear view camera and front parking sensors."

Which wheels are on yours?  Got ours (daughter's) now and the 18" ones, with 45 profile tyres, are just bonkers.    She's have killed for a heated steering wheel (she is affected by cold hands) but isn't bothered about the heated seats - she's usually so wrapped up she probably won't be able to feel them!

I went for the standard wheels then, so 16 inch.
