Scala 1.0 tsi, 81 kW, 6 speed manual slight vibration of the clutch pedal

Featured Replies

Actually - two days ago I spoke to a mechanic I trust. He explained to me that this is normal for his engine and is due to the design of the clutch. If I understand correctly, it is caused by the clutch bearing constantly rotating with the clutch plate. This transmits vibrations. He said that this allowed the clutch to function more smoothly. He also said that the clutch bearing wears out faster, but that it is nothing dramatic.

But its not comfortable for the driver and it is annoying feeling. Many would not buy the car if they new before that the clutch pedal makes vibrations, has longer run and its stiff if only driven in city in manner stop and go. I guess we have to adapt to a car and not the car to us nowadays

Well, medley, I can only agree with you.

I drove Polo 1.0 tsi 95 ps manual from 2019......very smooth, there is no this issue with any kind of the matter from this topisvand there is no vibrations atvall in the cabin.....I drove rapid 1.0 tsi from 2018. also free from this uncomfortable feature of the new cars equipped with 1.0 tsi....One guy that i know called me and said to me tgat he has driven new tcross and that it is hard to get it going in the first gear with that kind of clutch.....i guess VAG ruined better clutches and gearboxes (in polo the gear lever felt solud) and now it is manufacturing crap products and putting them in the cars we buy

I just tried a 2023 VW Golf with the 1.5 TSI engine. There’s absolutely no problem with the clutch or starting off — it’s perfect, just the way it should be. I suspect this issue only affects the 1.0 TSI. I think I’ve read something about that somewhere.

So i read this topic yesterday and thought : "Poor guys, have some problems, I guess Im lucky". Today while driving to work I pushed clutch pedal, but just a little effort and did feel a pulsation on it. So I tried different ways. While your foot is on pedal, but not applying any force, one dont feel anything, while you force pedal to the end to apply clutch, one dot feel anything. But (!) when you apply a little force on pedal, like pedal goes only some 10-20% of its way to the end, one can feel this annoying pulsation. So my conclusion - if you use clutch, then use it, don`t leave your foot on it, there is an foothold for it. Scala 2020, 145000km

on your picture is something that is glued on carpet this is not original

Yes, originally there is a carpet, but it`s on a elevation. So if you can put your foot on it, isnt`t it a foothold?image.png
