Mitsubishi FTO

Featured Replies

Whats the specs on these? I often thought they came with the slogan "looks like a ferrari, drives like a mondeo" ?

I was pretty clued up that they "aint all that!" not even the mivec version.

Anyway i had one try to indulge me into a traffic light Grand Prix on the way home from work yesterday, i was having none of it. His wheels were screeching when the lights went green and i set off as normal as there is another set of lights a hundred yards on so no point in flooring it to them.

Kept it in 2nd gear going about 30mph,heading down to the motorway onto the dual carriageway and i pull out to overtake him as he was deliberately going stupidly slow,i hear him change down and nothing happened!! up into 4th joining the motorway and he was well back!!

Surely he was embaressed, the good old diesel was smoking like a good un'.

The remapped Fab just pulls and pulls. Amazes me everytime i drive it!!!

If you are thinking/contemplating getting it remapped, Trust me take the plunge!

Back to the original QU, Do you gentleman agree with me on these Mitsubishi FTO'S?Are they more show than go? I've personally never driven one.

IMO: Nothing too special these days. ISTR they date from around 1995 though so it's not that surprising...

They may have the edge in weight (lack of it) but look at the revs peak torque arrives at!!!

Moved to here rather than Fabia section.

They were fast in their day... but most are f**ked now so wont be putting anywhere near factory power out
