Hello from Shropshire!

Featured Replies

Hello from snowy Shropshire. Just what I needed this morning, with my 2014 Yeti panoramic sunroof jammed open! Hoping some helpful people on here might be able to advise.

Thanks a lot and stay warm.

Morning, Well afternoon now... hopefully you got the sunroof closed. I used to own a convertible and actually really enjoyed winter days with the top down.

However, I dare not open our backdoor as it's super temperamental in the cold. We have to warm it up a bit to lock it.

I'd imagine it's a similar thing on the sunroof. My first thought it is to get the car good and warm... then cover the sunroof opening somehow and let heat soak into it... otherwise it's a hairdryer type thing around the mechanism/opening. Will be cold, or some snow/ice thats gotten balled up and jamming something.

Good luck with it.

Thanks for the reply, Colin. The sunroof has made a rattling noise since I bought the car, two years ago. Saturday morning, I drove to town (car is always covered by a winter cover and although it was frosty, the sun was warm) there was a loud noise coming from above out heads. I operated the electric mechanism, I know I shouldn't have done this but hindsight is a great thing! Even worse noise and the sunroof is now slightly twisted and won't close. It lift more on one side than the other. I'm guessing I've sheared the gearing?

Not going to attempt anything with the temperatures this low. Stuffed towels in the gap and covered with the waterproof car cover!

I don't have a garage to work in, sadly!

All the best.
