2.0 tdi scr 150 or 200ps difference and dsg type

Featured Replies

I’m seriously considering getting a Superb estate, mainly for the boot space and rear legroom.

Looking at 2020 onwards models, I’d quite happily have a 1.5 tsi but there seems to be a lot more available with diesel and most seem to be dsg.

Does anyone know the difference between a 150 and 200ps engine, is it the same engine mapped differently or a different turbo or engine altogether ?

Also are all the dsg boxes 7 speed now and would it be the wet clutch version with a tdi ?

cheers

Any 2 litre tsi or tdi will have a Wet Clutch DSG.   The TDI will be a SCR (Adblue) user.

The age of the car will decide which a 6 speed DQ250 or a 7 speed DQ381.

A 2020 i believe will be a DQ381.

As to a FWD 150 PS 1.5 TSI ACT then that is a 7 speed twin dry clutch DQ200.

Cheers Rooted, I am wary of dsg but I believe the dq 380 and 381 are better than the dry clutch ones. Superb would be an ideal car for me and there seems to be more tdi and dsg available.

It will not be a DQ380 in Europe.

Anyway, 80,000 mile OIl changes and Skoda / VW say not the filter.   I would want the DSG serviced well before 80,000 miles and the filter changed.

Others will know the story on the 150 or 200 ps TDI,s.    or is that 190 ps?

As far as I remember, 200 TDI which was an evolution of 190 TDI which we have in our Karoq has a bigger turbo and different injectors.   A remap will take the 150 TDI which I have in my Yeti to c. 185.

I suspect that the 200 TDI Superb is fitted with the same DQ500 DSG gearbox as our Karoq.  It's a 7 speed wet clutch gearbox, capable of handling up to 600 Nm of torque.  The only issues I've seen reported with this are Mechatronic unit failures.

I did some research on this not so long back and keeping an eye on the market here, in Germany, and in Sweden, all says the same: there ain't many manuals, if at all. No longer orderable here, >95% of the used stock is DSG. Same elsewhere.

Cheers for the help guys.  I’ll keep my eyes out on what’s available.

40,000 mile Oil Services then if a DQ500.

@Rooted do you know what the ** is on the 400?  I'm about 16k off my next service and thinking I should get the filter done.  First was done at VW so under no illusion they did the filter.

I suspect it indicates the two versions of that transmission.  DQ400 for ICE cars and DQ400E for hybrid cars.

He has a PHEV.  The Mild Hybrid,s DQ200 is a DQ200-e.

@Schtum as per @Rooted's comment, I dont think a DQ400 exists.  The non-electrified variant is the DQ250.

Just DQ400-e exist. Used with PHEV,s. 6 speed wet clutch. 40,000 miles service regime.

There are also differences between 150 TDI engines pre 2019 & the newer EVO variant.
