"Foot off the Accelerator" Message in VC

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to turn the above off?  Ive been through every setting i think might have something to do with it to no avail.

Cheers

It's Eco tips settings. Otherwise it nags you about this and windows being open too. 😠

I'm sure i've got Eco tips switched off but will double check.

Yep, eco tips is off

Try switching it back on & back off. Sometimes that works. I had this when I upgraded the firmware to 1941.

I don't have it anymore.

I don't even understand why it's saying that.

It usually does it when approaching roundabouts and also displays a graphic of a roundabout.

But surely if you thought it was appropriate to take your foot off you would have done so.

If I'm not mistaken, this has something to do with a specific setting in the built in sat nav. Try fiddling with sat nav settings and turn everything off. And see if that make that message away.

The only setting that I tweaked was Eco tips, turned them off and the irritating open window and throttle warnings disappeared.

I tend to use coasting & gearbox anyway rather than brakes, which catches a few out. 🙄

Eco tips switched on and back off again and all options in the factory satnav switch off (I use google maps anyway) and I still get the message.  Never mind, it's a very minor annoyance in an otherwise great car.

On 1941 firmware?

Yep

I'll have a look later when I have to go out.

I think you must understand that the car is in charge; not you! Remember, Skoda (and others) are aiming towards autonomous cars and we are the guinea pigs. These so-called eco tips drive me wild. 55 years of driving and my car treats me like a novice 😠 .

I know that you can turn it off, the only one that riles me is telling me to drive in the centre of the lane, especially when it's in roadworks on a motorway or narrow lanes 🤬

Must be switched off in two different places.

If they are so annoying, why don't you just turn them off?

What's under the driver alert system menu?  I'd expect that to be a more likely place for it.

Not really. Driver Alert System (tiredness monitor) reminds you to take breaks after so many hours. Checks whether you're having trouble staying in the lane and so on. I've never had it alert me.

I think there's just the option to enable or disable it under its menu.

Cheers, I suspect that's the one as it's also shows that icon on the VC at the same time.  Took me a bit of searching to find, it's a bit hidden.  Hopefully that's sorted it now 😃

Turn them off? Only to find they come on again at every subsequent start-up. And have you ever wondered about the bright sparks at Skoda who dream up this unnecessary stuff just so they can charge more money? It surprises me that I have come so far (and others, too, I guess) in my driving career without the need for all this electronic frippery.

I knew it was in there, but couldn't remember where! At least I'm not going to get a dunking now.

The eco tips stay disabled. I don't know what you're ranting about.

"Lane Enforce" at a guess.

We were talking about the Eco tips, though.

Lane assist can be programmed to be disabled on startup as well.
