USB A socket in front console replacement

Recommended Posts

I accidentally put the usb c connector (which normally goes into my phone) into the USB A (traditional USB socket) of my Fabia. It was dark and the cable ends look similar!

I suspect I scratched a conductor in the socket as it now only charges my phone but android auto isn't recognising my phone.

I haven't found any instructions or videos online showing how to replace the USB socket module. Is it easy? The part is £50 so a bit of a gamble that the cause is actually the socket.

Any help much appreciated!

VIN will give pab567 the information he requires - you could perhaps PM it if you don't want to post it here.  The VIN is on your V5C (logbook) plates on the car and perhaps(?) paper label in the boot.

The VIN is

on the N-S-F bottom of the windscreen and is easy to see.

Might be hidden under the wiper though.

Thanks. AG Falco
