Spare Wheel conformity?

Featured Replies

Hi Briskoda experts

I put this on the Octavia forum first

I'm changing my 2020 Octavia Se Drive 150 for a new Kamiq Se Drive 150 this week.

I hope to keep my Octavia spare wheel kit (never used) for the new Kamiq - and put the non- spare kit (inflation etc.) in the Kamiq into my old Octavia.

Any problems with this plan?

Just looked at LLLPARTS website and now I'm worried that there is no (or poor) direct compatibility.

Best taking advice from someone with practical experience of the Kamiq,  but the armchair expert in me says that the bolt pattern on the Octavia will be 5 x112mm  whereas the Kamiq has a 5 x110mm pattern.

So it ain't going to fit.

I'm sure someone may or may not confirm that.

Can’t you just go out and look?

The Kamiq PCD is 5 x 100.

You can get the correct foam and jack kit for the Kamiq, as shown below. It includes everything except for the actual spare wheel.

Any VAG parts department should be able to order this in for you, if you give them the OEM part number, ie. 658093860A

The full size 16" spare wheel for the Kamiq is 205/60R16 fitted to a 6Jx16 ET35 5/100 57.1 rim.

The OEM part number for the 6Jx16 ET35 5/100 57.1 steel rim is 2Q0601027H 03C. This can be ordered from any VAG parts department. However, the aftermarket Alcar 6664 6Jx16 ET35 5/100 57.1 steel rim is an exact copy made in Switzerland, so the same high quality.

I haven't bought a wheel replacement kit (got car with the repair kit and huge ), but an aftermarket space saver spare 15" wheel (have a set of 16" alu wheels for summer 15" steel wheels for winter) with a cover and put some addiitonal things like show chains, tire pump, etc. on top of it, to utilize the whole space for the spare wheel :) My goal wasn't to pay less, but to use the most of the spare wheel space as the trunk is not that huge 😞

Hi

Thanks for all the helpful info to my post

I can now relax - the lucky next owner of my Octavia can enjoy the security of a spare wheel - I will now spend a few months equipping my new Kamiq

But why not a universal spare for a range of models?

I don't feel my next car must always be a Skoda - it could be a VW, Seat, Audi as well.  The essential thing is that engine - the 1.5 petrol lump is perfect for me - 134mph, 8.2 secs to 60, and nearly 50 mpg.  Returning from the south of France last year I got 49.8 mpg with hundreds of autoroute miles at 130kph.

Spares wheels are pretty much universal but the spare isn't your problem, it's the hub. General rule is Small car = smaller hub.

Your Octavia spare would fit Karoq, Kodiaq, Superb etc   The Kamiq will also fit Fabia, Scala etc.

Just make sure your next car is a Rapid or something - problem solved  :D

@VRSx3dave

There is a Universal wheel for models, like the Fabia, Scala / Kamiq with 5 x100, like a Polo , Ibiza etc.

But that can be a 15" or 16" steel wheel,  but the tyres need to be difference because the smaller class model have less circumference tyres.

Then you have 4 x 112 Steel Wheels in sizes for bigger, but then that might be Octavia to Karoq, Kodiaq.
