Advice Please - Affordable Diagnostic tool for adapting new DPF Sensor or just get garage to fix?

My 2015 2.0 L TDI Euro6 Yeti popped up the Engine warning light a few days ago.  A local garage scanned the faults and told me it was a DPF sensor fault, unfortunately I didn't get to see what the codes were.
Looking at spare parts needed there are two DPF sensors fitted both are 03L906051B.  Prices for the Sensor vary from £113 on the Skoda UK parts site to around £30 for the Bosch equivalent.

I am happy to replace the sensor (assuming only one is faulty) and follow instructions to do the adaptation, however I don't want to spend a fortune on a diagnostic tool that I may not use in the future.
As far as I can gather the adaptation must be done after fitting the sensor but befoe starting the car again.

Thoughts please on this and possible suggestions for a tool that would let me do the adaptation and reset the codes.

Or should I just bite the bullet and pay the garage (not a Skoda dealer). I assume they will charge the full Skoda price for the part + labour.

TIA.

If the fault appears to be the DPF pressure differential sensor then it can be one of many things. One of the pipes may be blocked or split, or some gunge may have entered the sensor via one of the pipes, or a wire to the sensor has broken. I have seen a few variations; but they all mean that the sensor itself may be fine.
Good luck.

PS Find a VAG specialist who has dealt with such things before.

Probably a more sensible path to take if I think about it logically.  There is an independent VAG garage nearby so I will give them a try.

Many Thanks.

UPDATE.

Car is going in on Wed for a service and investigation of the Warning light.

So now the warning light has gone off after being on for several days.  I think its going to be hard to diagnose the cause, but I have read that one possible cause is a small leak in the exhaust sytem.  That might be the cause as I'm sure sometimes I do hear a barely noticeable change in the exhaust note on certain revs.  Just wonder if anyone has heard of that causing the sensor detection to trigger?

Another thing I mean to do before I visit the garage is if it comes back on to check around the connections for a loose cable or bad connection.

I hate intermittent faults!

was it this warning light?  I had this one recently.

I note that you didn't actually see the fault codes.  My codes were

P13D600 Sensor for internal pressure of cylinder 3 implausible signal

P67400 Cylinder 4 glow plug circuit

P2B8300 Charge air cooler pump A over speed/air in system

P16C600 Heater support pump dry running

My long term Independent thought first two not unexpected at 52000 miles and third and fourth just gremlins as no issues found with coolant level, heating system etc etc.

Replaced glow plugs 1,2,4 and replaced pressure sensor glow plug 3.

Problem solved

When it's doing a regen, a more gruff sound.

Adopting a new DPF sensor can be done via VCDS, however I'd be wanting to run VAGDPF via Carista OBD dongle to see how blocked the DPF actually is, whether the car regens etc before I'd shell out on new parts.

@Bexhillian Yes same light but did not see the codes.  Its still out and car seems normal, no idea what the garage will do now as probably intermittent.
@blackbird Hopefully they will do that and see what state the filter is in.

@Urrell I know that sound but this is more like an exhaust with a little hole affecting the note.  Funny thing is, I have not heard it since the light went out again 🤔
