Might be the actual front left (nearside) sensor, or possibly a broken wire or corroded connection in the loom plug,  Worth checking wiring near connector, and visual impression of connector contacts before spending on a replacement sensor, if poss.

The ABS code I would be suspicious of relating to the blade fuse that the thinner red/green wire is going to (25Amp one?) or damage to that wire between there and ABS module. Unplugging connector from ABS module, and measuring voltage at the relevant connection would be ideal. Will give pin number later.

Ok will do thanks

Yes, the fusebox on the end of the dashboard. Good, the battery light should come on and then go off as the engine starts. There's a common wiring fault, especially on the diesels where there's m

  • I don't think so; you're wasting your time with that garage though.

Try to get (and post) a nice, sharply-focussed photo of the strip fuses in the holder above the battery. Sometimes a near-invisible hairline crack in the power steering one can give such symptoms.

Do I need ramps for this?

One (or 2 since they're usually sold in pairs) axle stands would be better; this is a wheel(s) off job if you have to replace the sensor or its wire.

No problem. I should have said to get the kind where the height is adjusted by pins rather than screws, but the difference is obvious when you see them.

Hiya I got up this morning and the abs pump is continually running. I checked fuses yesterday was half way discounting wires from pump but something came up and push it back in. Also should I start a new thread for abs pump?

Just thought you might like to know I put the old abs unit back on car all lights have gone out apart from the abs light so it was a faulty unit thankfully I saved the original one. It wasn't a fun job to do either 🤣 those bolts kept wanting to thread but got there in the end just need to bleed breaks tomorrow.
