Fabia Monte carlo 2017 DSG error Leave in Park.

Featured Replies

Fabia monte carlo 2017 DSG sensor fault.
Has anyone else encountered the error "leave in park" fault? The DSG works perfectly so I'd imagine it's a faulty sensor/switch, however the main dealer in Newcastle, Staffa want £1795 to replace the gear assembly. They don't do a switch replacement. The switch can be bought for £50 or less with a 2 year warranty, however they won't fit it. Has anyone else fixed this issue.

I'm told that this switch is what's needed. Has anyone fitted one to this vh before?

This is a link to a YouTube video with the bloody fix, however it's on am octivia VRS not a Fabia. Trying work out if I need to dismantle more of the black gear housing and if the below switch fits under that housing.

Welcome.

Worth doing a Google / Search.

Just a small point, other than the fault and that message.

The DSG does not 'Have to be left only in Park or P'.    The car can be started in P or in N as long as the temperature is not below -8*oC,

then it needs to be in P.

This is because the car might need maintenance, pushed / rolled etc.  So it might be wanted in N with the engine off.

It's a strange issue, because the car drivers perfectly. No issues at all with the DSG gear box. We leave it in P when parked. We have had the car from new and only cover 21k miles in it. So hardly any, so I was totally shocked yesterday when skoda told us it's a £1799 bill to fix a faulty switch.

Like today, we have been out to the shops and the error has appeared. Yesterday, I drove back from the garage, took its for a run and the error message appeared, but no change in drive or DSG. Sports mode and manual mode work perfectly.

I can see me not bothering to get it fixed. I just know this will affect the resale value now.

Very disappointing of Skoda

Somebody at an Approved Repairer / Dealership told you the price they would love to charge was it not. not Skoda.

VW Group / Skoda should have been paying for every car needing fixed.

Fundamental design, manufacturing or material failure. Parts not fit for purpose in or out of warranty.
