Seats

Featured Replies

I think I’ve debated before but I’m not remembering…getting old..I’ve tested 1 year ago a Skoda Karoq which had the ergo seats in the front with electric adjustments and I was so mesmerised about it, as I forgot completely to look for what type of trim level that Karoq had. I enjoyed the seats as the seating cushion was very long up to right behind my knees and as I’m coming from the tall people group being 6.2 I loved it. Unfortunately I don’t seem to find those seats in any Karoq I’m looking at and I’m getting very frustrated about it. I’ve asked about it on the Facebook group for Karoq and no one knows about it. So now I wonder were those seats an optional from the owner or was it a trim level. The same seats are on the Skoda Superb Laurin&Klement and also on the Passat GT.  Can you guys shed some light or ideas for me?  Kind regards. C.J.

I’m 6’4” with long legs and find the Sports seats in my Sportline very supportive. They are not electric though.

Ironically we bought a Karoq Sportline with the highback seats just over a year ago and I’m finding that after about an hour at the wheel I’m getting a backache; I’ve adjusted the seat angle and the lumbar support and it’s not making a great deal of difference. It’s got to the point where I’m seriously looking at getting shot for something else which would be a shame as I’m loving the car but can’t continue with it giving me the backache.

I would book a session with a chiropractor, before changing your car.

I would suggest a massage before a chiropractor, I work in Emergency Room and not all chiropractors are legitimately good.

I believe only the Edition model had standard electric seats and that's not been available for some time.

The current line up of SE Drive, SEL, Sportline do not have electric seats.

I'm not too bothered about electric adjustment but I would have liked the base angle to be adjustable.

The details of the various specifications seem to change every five minutes or so (joke!) so it's very difficult to compare, say, an SEL from 2020, 2021, 2022 etc. without having a precise list of any particular car's features (basic plus any options).

I ordered a '23 facelift SEL in June '22 and picked it up in the October.

One option I went for was the "Convenience Package" (as defined in the April '22 brochure) which includes electrically adjustable front seats (with three memories).

I can't think that a feature such as that will have been done away with.

I have the optional electric adjustable drivers seat with my Karok, which allows much more adjustment than the manual.

It has 3 memory position function, which also includes door mirror settings.

@IanPerry316 and @JayTee I’m looking at the convenience package, wondering if I can live without but having been spoilt by my superb mark II elegance which had the convenience package as standard back then, I’m giving it serious thought. Would you say it is worth the additional cost? I assume the option for settings per driver is a bonus - my partner and I alternate regularly between our cars.

I thought (and still think) it was worth it.

Not only when driver & passenger swap places, but after a service or, a couple of days ago, a decent, detailed in & out car wash/mini-valet.

Once you've spent a little while getting everything how you want it & memorised the settings, one push of the button & the seat & door mirrors return to where/how YOU want them.

One other thing you get with this - if you move the door mirrors control knob to 'left' then engage reverse the passenger side mirror dips to show the kerb/roadside. Can't remember exactly how to set this up (you'll doubtless find help on this forum); I'd bet that you'll find this feature very useful for helping to avoid minor scuffs & scrapes.

Turns out that it will cost nearly £3k to add to the sportline and would push me into the premium tax group - so we’ll have to live without 😞

I can't recall how much they were asking two years ago, but I can't think I would have gone for it at that price!

Yep - they say that normal seats will need to be put in, in order to have the convenience package - increasing the cost significantly. So I’ll have to live with the manual adjust.

"normal seats will need to be put in" ??   Sounds a bit kackhanded ?

I don't think you can have electric adjustment on sportline seats.

To have the SEL seats in the Sportline is a £1250 option for microfibre seats and £1520 for leather.

Then you can add conv pack for electric adjustment for £1355

I can't think that that level of cost is warranted.

That’s my issue, I can’t justify the cost/expense but I appreciate the idea/tact for a solution to getting electric adjustable seats in a sport line. I will, however, have to get on with the manual adjustment - I’ll mutter under my breath but I’ll cope
