Skoda UK CEO

Featured Replies

HI everyone, can anyone help me,

I for the last year have had an ongoing battle with a Skoda Dealer and it's recently got worse.

I have been treated like utter rubbish, I really have never experienced customer service like it.

I have been trying to reach out to the CEO of Skoda UK but have received nothing in form of a reply, does anyone know if Matthew Bowden is still CEO?

Thanks guys

WHilst I understand why going direct to CEO may feel like an option it may not be the best or most effective option.

You haven't provided any details of what the issue is but generally if you follow the ombudsmans advice you should first submit a formal complaint in writing.

https://www.themotorombudsman.org/knowledge-base/how-to-resolve-a-problem-with-a-garage-or-dealer

Then if needs be you can look at using the TMO to intervene.

Mails to the CEO of most companies tend to end up going to a general customer service team.

Have you tried mailing  [email protected] or have all your interactions been with the franchised dealer only?

All that said Matthew is still Managing Director for Skoda UK from what I can see

You have to get passed this shower and deal with the Executive Team Members from Skoda / VW UK.

Get a Resolutions Manager at least communicating with you.

Easier said than done.  As for CEO,s, Brand Managers, After sales Managers with Skoda UK. it has been pass the parcel for near 2 decades now.

Selectively deaf dumb and blind, but pleased with improvement in sales.

Well I got a reply...

"Matthew has read your email"

"It's been passed to the Executive Team who will be looking into it as a priority"

So let's see what happens.

Probably pure coincidence that stuff is on the internet and telly researchers, and then later perhaps panic stations for some when they find out about what's on the internet and telly researchers.  I think (VW) Skoda UK will be putting in some great distance between this matter and themselves leaving the Dealer to sort it or suffer it, perhaps, if applicable, some appeals for compromise to the Dealer from the Motor Ombudsman or Retail Motor Industry Federation organisations but they'll not work on those that are criminally bad or just plain criminals.

It'll be interesting to hear what Skoda UK CEO Matthew Bowden and the Executive Team have to report back to you, do let us know if you can, at least until they don't allow it.

After all this time and aggro for you someone collecting the heap of a car and calling it quits doesn't seem like it'd be fair recompense for all you have been put through, but you might just want an end to it to get on with your life as you did before this con sternation started.

I'm hoping that enough people read these posts and see what the garage have put me through then remember it when they come to purchase their next Skoda.

I really can't believe they have dealt with me like this and Im starting to think that perhaps they had this in mind all along.

Hi, I'm new to the site. Can I ask if you ever got a full reply/resolution to your issues after contacting Matthew Bowden ? My elderly parents are having serious issues with a dealership and their written complaints and phone calls are being ignored. Looks like they were sold a faulty used car and are trying to seek some redress. They emailed Matthew Bowden last week, so I just wondered if you had any luck going through his office? TIA.

@Malvern82  Welcome.

Not really Skoda UK,s & VW,s issue to deal with other than they have these Approved Repairers / Dealerships that they allow to behave very badly.

Citizens Advice will get you further usually and assist in getting them to take the wronged their legal rights.

They deal with contacting Trading Standards and that can get things moving in the right direction.

Have you contacted the Dealers / Dealership Groups Directors, their CEO and anyone that is part of their senior management?

I usually use Linkedin and message them.  Then i also put up posts online that catch their attention.

Using the Dealerships Name and the Owners / Directors.

I had an issue a couple of years ago which in the end forced my hand to email Matthew Bowden.  I received the “referred to the Executive Team” email and shortly after my issue was resolved and compensation recieved.

DONT ever be fobbed off if you know you are in the right,  badger these people until you get a satisfactory outcome.

More people give up then fight on, and these car manufacturers know it.

Not me, no way.

Thank you both for your replies. My dad hasn't received a response from Matthew Bowden's office but continues to push the dealership, who are doing a good job of digging themselves further into a hole.

I would drop a line, email etc to the Head or PR & Communications and ask why they are so crap at communications with the buyers of Skoda,s in the UK new or approved used.
