Options on UK website

Hi peoples. Hows tricks.

I have not commented much since i got the MKI back in 2019.

I got the "Edition" Edition and pretty much loved it. However i got it on lease and have to hand it back in sept.

I had a test drive of the MKII on Saturday and enjoyed it. It was the SEL edition. Very good but already had extras on.

However the garage could not answer my question.

Can i opt for ACC and heated windscreen (Live up North East frosty in August up here) I fancy the ACC but everytime i opt for it on the Skoda website it has conflicts.

HAs anyone else bought one yet?

I did test drive a Tiguan R line on Sunday but think the cabin noise is worse than the Kodiaq.

cheers Jed.

Whilst it can mostly be relied upon for only allowing you to select permitted combinations of options, the configurator isn’t always infallible.

If your dealer can’t answer questions, I’d suggest a different (better) dealer who knows about the cars they are selling would be a good idea.

But… I’ve just looked and tried on an SEL (7 seat 1.5 mild hybrid) and you can have ACC with a heated windscreen. If you select the heated windscreen as your first option, you get three options - the first with just the winter pack, the second with the winter pack and driver assistance, and the third with winter + DA plus. The options with the DA packs use the winter pack with the 3-spoke steering wheel, which seems to be key to the combination.

Thank for that Yogi.

I did not see the arrow to the right.

Has anyone bought/got the new kodiaq yet. (doubt it)

I have had diesel cars/vans all my life apart from my first Ford Escort Mexico copy.

I have having nightmares of filling up a petrol with diesel. I hope i can cope.

I don't do many miles in fact i have had my old kodiaq for nearly 5 year and still only 15000 miles.

Will i see much difference at the fuel pump?

Cheers Jed

I have just taken delivery of a new Kodiaq - SE L (7 Seats) 1.5 TSI e-TEC PS DSG to replace a 2000 L&K (7 seats) DSG 2.0 TDi. Prior to that I had an Edition which was the 'bees knees' as far as I am concerned.

However, initial impressions are disappointing.  The SE L is supposedly the top of the range yet it doesn't have a spare wheel, nor a jack(!!!).  Apparently it isn't possible to carry even a space saver spare wheel due to the split level floor!  No wheel brace yet it has the locking wheel nut adaptor.  It has a little compressor and bottle of sealant but you can't raise the car to move the sealant around.  The 'pincers' to remove the plastic wheel nut covers were discovered in the depths of the central glove box.  The rear floor has the corners ' cut off' so anything small can disappear under the floor.

Paid £1000 extra for metallic red which is more like the Post Office Red that used to be applied to Metal post boxes!

So, first impressions - disappointing!

Far from it, I'm afraid. It might be the highest trim available right now, but the L&K will be along soon to be 'top of the range'. And on the sporty side, the vRS will be 'top of the range' over the Sportline.

Yes, I agree but top of the range at the moment!

Spare always used to be an option, then it was standard, now it appears to be an option again.

A spare WILL fit but it will be a spacesaver not a full size spare.

If they didn't give you the locking wheel key how would you or anyone else get the wheels off?

Agree the open areas at the sides of the boot floor that are now open are a bit odd and the mk 1 lids were better.

Had a Fabia with the velvet red and in the sunshine it really popped.

Did you not realise most of those things before you ordered when you viewed one in the showroom and took a test drive??

Just to let you know. I opted for the SEL petrol, diesel just too much now as was 4 x 4. I have opted for ACC and heated windscreen. Another little con was i had to go for SEL to get the variable boot floor option. However. In my old Kodiaq I have only done 15000 miles in 5 year. I got a shock at the 5 year service. They wanted £4500 for loads of work that needed doing even down to something with the front door locking. I may go for a more reliable maker next time.

Cheers.

The Door Locking is a Recall Action Software update & free gratis.

£4,500 was someone taking the pith even if it was the Haldex service, it would not have been the DSG or a Cam-Belt, but maybe they did quote on that.

Even the rip-off for 4 discs and pads could not have got it to 1/2 of that figure, Oil & Inspection Service, Extended Scope, Pollen Filter, Brake Fluid replaced.

Skomaz,

I never saw a car or given any choice of options .  This is my 3rd car from this dealer and probably expected too much.

Blimey...   I certainly wouldn't buy a car without having looked at one and driven one...   That's asking for trouble IMHO...
