Thanks for the helpful content

it looks bad for me, not for the complication but for the removal of all these panels and plastics. I am always against the removal of plastics because it will always look bad afterwards.

i will keep this dashcam on the ugliest cable visual presentation and cry always when i enter the car :)

shame on skoda that didnt install it by default

thank you for the great content and thank you for illuminating me on this topic :)

You are most welcome.

I must say I have already removed one the plastics around rear view mirror, the front door panels and all the panels in the trunk. And didn't have any issues putting them back. Just need to be careful not to brake any clips.

true, the "clips" is always the problem, will not fit as it should anymore

thanks for the help

How about hardwiring the dash cam into the fusebox instead? Then it's only the glovebox and pillar trim to come off.

thanks, this is an option as well,

lets see

What i have done is run a USB cable from the boot which is perm live to my Road angel as it has sleep mode but needs constant power and it has fitted neatly from the 12v in the boot to the camera. Took about half an hour. Or you can get a hardwire kit as mentioned and feed it to the fuse box.  As mine is a company car i dont want any interaction with the fuse box ect so i cant get blamed for issues lol.

Mine works a treat.

I suggest you bring your car to a trusted workshop where they can run the dashcam wire through the roof lining and to your car's fuse box.

My car came with a dashcam fitted by the dealer and the wiring was done this way, rather than plugging into the USB-C port behind the rear view mirror.

I can do it myself like that, just dont like to open all the plastics and cause any damage to the clips, because they will start to make noise and you cannot stop that anymore, the usb c on the mirror by the factory would be the best solution, SKODA didnt install it, so lets see :)

I was wondering if it was option that can be added in one place only (on the mirror plastics) and not to open everything to pass the cable 😞
