Hi Everyone,

 

A few months ago, my brakes failed due to a broken brake pump (or similar part). 

 

I replaced it with a used Golf 8 part, and all issues cleared from the dashboard.

 

 

The brakes and parking brake now work, but when I engage the parking brake, there’s a strange sound and slight vibration in the pedal. The noise is more noticeable inside the car. I was told the brake pump needs coding, which could be causing the issue.

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you visited a service center or done diagnostics? Have they pointed out to you what could be a problem?

No I just assumed they all did it from time to time. It happens about once every 20 uses for me.

I did a bit of googling and think that noise could be the brake recalibrating itself and measuring the pads, which it does every so often apparently.

 

Maybe others can advise if theirs makes the noise too sometimes?

It could be that yours is attempting this process every time.
