Just test driven a Fabia vRS - again..

Featured Replies

I'm tempted again to chop in the Octy for a Fabia vRS, seems my 54' plate octy vRS with 35k on the clock is only worth

LOL! I got offered 6.5k for my diesel on a 53 (27/2/04) plate with 120k on the clock

Buy a nice sensible Golf GTD instead.

You can get a brand new Fabia for around 11k!

£100 Mark btw ;)

in the Trader an 03 plate vRS with 35K on the clock is going to £8.5K so the dealer your looking at is having a laugh.

Always bare in mind though that a dealer will only ever give you book price and private sales always see a higher price. Also no car (unless your buying exotics) is going to hold its value. The new shape vRS is going to have made a big dent in the residuals on the mk1 vRS as well.

IMO if you can get back 50% of what you paid new for you car after 3 years you're doing well. ;)

On my CTR at 3years 3months old with 45k miles i'm getting 57% (

CTR's seem to hold their value pretty well at the moment, whether that will stay the case once the new one comes out we'll have to see.

Boyced - just to let you know, i checked the autotrader site yesterday and most if not all the 03 registered cars with around 30-40K miles are going for £8995 some of these are private but most are trade.

seems my 54' plate octy vRS with 35k on the clock is only worth £8000 though

Because it's modded, because it's going in against a second hand car and because we have just passed the magic financial quarter mark (although I have no idea if second-hand sales are affected by this so much).

I got 300 over-book at the end of June on an 03 vRS (unmodded) chopped in for a new, in stock motor.

What does Glass's say your car is worth? That's all that matters to Mr Dealer.

My car won't be modded when its chopped in! It will be put back to standard, so there will be a set of KW v2's up for grabs.

I'm in no rush to get rid, my journy into work showed an average mpg of 42.3 MPG, god it was slow though.

It totally depends on how my personnal situtation turns out. If I stay at home and drive into work, or move in with SWMBO - if that happens I'll sell the car and cycle to work! And use the golf if it rains - thats if it doesn't torque steer me into a hedge...

I think the CTR value bubble is about to burst.... I know someone who's rang 8 Honda dealers trying to sell his 12 month oldone and not one will touch it as they've already got too many instock!

I've heard of one honda dealer with 16 used CTR's!!

My bad - thought you'd uprated the power output too for some reason!
