Map updates 2024 on 2019 karoq

Featured Replies

Hi all

Hope everyone is doing OK,

I downloaded the new 2024 map from skoda portal ,following instructions from skoda site in copying extracted contents to the sd card,  once  card is loaded I get the message 'navigation maps dB not available ' , any advice or any links on  old version of  maps ,

Perhaps you did not keep a copy of the old maps before overwriting the SD card with the 2024 version.

I have a copy but with its size 6.5GB it is far too large to transfer over the net.

Hi,

Have you used a Mac to download the maps ?

I am going to try this on my 2019 Karoq with MIB2 Amundsen unit. Can you be a bit more explicit about what you actually did please. I don't want to be left with no maps!

OK. So its actually dead easy. Take the SD card out of the reader in the glove box and slide the switch on the side to allow the card to be written. Put the card in a laptop and copy the contained MAP file into a folder on the laptop to keep as a backup. Download the new .zip Map file from Skoda and extract it. This will give you a new MAP file. Fast Format the SD card to clear the data on it and then copy the new Map folder onto it. Remove the SD card and move the switch back to write protect the disk. Put the card back in the car and turn on the Sat Nav. After a short time the screen will display the new maps. Job done!
