Throaty noise on low throttle

Featured Replies

Hi All ,

Have had my 2019 1.6 TDi  SE KAROQ for 6 months now , Quite pleased with it , coming from a Octavia it is different but the same .

A question/niggle I have is the throaty roar when on low throttle , At first I thought there is no air filter in it or even no ail filter body but its all there.  I believe some models have a noise maker?  to give it a sporty feel. Is there any way to quieten it down?. Even my old berlingo is quieter .

Is this normal?

The fuel flap is just hanging on, stuck shut with no fuel in a busy filling station is no joke.  The dealer seems to think that its not a common problem. He seems to be dragging his feet a little.

  1. I believe some models have a noise maker? I think that is correct, but it can be turned down or even off.
  2. The dealer seems to think that its not a common problem. He seems to be dragging his feet a little. This is typical of Skoda main stealers.

On my Sportline there is a Drive mode button, the Individual option allows the selection of sound on/off.

I thought there were some models had a noise maker , unfortunately its not on mine . I would have turned it off.

I think I'll need to look at the air feed pipes ,  Moving or a split somewhere.

Need to chase up the stealer again.

Another niggle is the headlight switch keeps turning the  headlights to ON position, must be knocking it with my knee when getting in and out. Its just left on Auto normally.

Always catching the light switch with my knee, and the “fag packet” drop down cubby, which randomly opens itself! Why the switch has to be hidden away, where I cannot see instantly if lights are on or not, with no tell tale on the dash.

It’s a Skoda thing, I do the same in our Fabia, I think it’s because the surface it’s mounted in slopes backwards. I noticed that with the switch set to auto the symbols around the outside light up when the ambient light levels drop, be better if it was in the dash though.

Spoiler

It’s great to hear you’re enjoying your Karoq. The throaty roar at low throttle is often due to a noise enhancement feature, which can be normal. If it bothers you, check with your dealer about disabling it. Regarding the fuel flap issue, it’s concerning. Keep pushing your dealer for a resolution, as it’s important for safety. Good luck! With multiple deadlines approaching, I realized I wouldn’t have enough time to finish my coursework. I turned to academized.com/write-my-coursework for help, and I’m really glad I did. The coursework was delivered on time, and the quality was excellent. The writer had clearly done their research, and the paper was well-organized and met all the requirements. I was able to focus on my other assignments without worrying about this one. I highly recommend this service for any busy student.
