MIB update from 2.0 to 2.5 compatible with Virtual Cockpit?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

sorry in case I make any mistakes, this is my first post.

I am about to purchase a Superb 2017 with 3V0035021D as head unit.

I plan to update the software from g11 to g13 using the AIO tool, basically making it a MIB 2.5 (if I am not wrong).

I was told that also only the 9“ screen would work, which I would need to buy.

Now to the question:

Will I be able to install a Virtual Cockpit and code it, or does it only work for „real“ MIB 2.5?

Has anyone made any experience and could help me out? Really appreciate it!

Maybe @pab567 do you have a idea?

Zacko, how did you get the bottom 2 buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to work?

So do you just plug that module in and that's it or do you need to get some coding done?

I don't know about this module

Can you share which you have or guide how to build one?

I've bought this one as well but not brave enough to start messing with the wiring.

Check the second link, I guess this is exactly what you bought.

so when I installed the steering wheel, the left side buttons work straight away along with the Paddles which i didnt have in the MK3 Steering wheel.  The right side button didnt work apart from the silver scroller and driving assist button (circled in green in the pic).

Now with this adaptor:  https://www.cars-equipment.com/en/shop/radio-adapter-can-bus-decoder-22/canbus-adapter-reduction-for-steering-wheel-2/, full version,  i confirm i can operate the menu/options such nav, audio etc (circled in white).

I haven't tested the cruise control button yet (circled in orange) but will report back later.  As for the red circled button, i think thats for Virtual Dash only, otherwise i would have expected that to be the back/return to menu button.

Thanks @zacko_O for the links, it helped me stop overthinking it!.

Update:  The cruise control button doesn't work so most likely i will need to code that via obd 11 or VCDS and turn the stalk for it off.  However, I'm not fussed at the moment along with the heated function - i will get to that in the future.

This is Travel Assist button, that you don’t have. Some modules have feature to reassign this button.

Thanks, I have Travel Assist function via the stalk so may be just a case of reassigning it.

No, Travel Assist requires 2q0 camera which began to be installed from ~2020. Unless you retrofitted it before.
