  • Here's my attempt at doing that:

  • Hello. So here's a couple of screenshots of the instrument cluster (there's also a screen for the navigation but didn't want to take pictures of that, but it's mostly the same option of layouts). Bonu

Took the aero covers off I see 😄

Had mine since April. Mines getting valeted this week and mine are coming off too. Centre caps and nut covers arrived yesterday.

I did the same looks much better although I’ve had it delivered that way. Took mine for its first real sporty drive on some of the roads I ride motorcycles on and was very impressed especially in ESP sport mode. You can get the back to rotate a little nicely quelling understeer when you’re having a play.

Yep I had the aero covers removed for handover, and requested no wash as the car went straight for a detail.

The exhaust sounds fruity from the outside. I assume it will open up and sound better with miles once it’s bedded in.

No spirited drive for me just yet, but I like how keen the car is to put down its power.

I've had my race blue hatch for a few weeks now after upgrading from a 72 plate manual vrs.

Definitely a more refined car & really happy with it so far. Still getting used to my first dsg.

I've removed the aero covers & I think it looks far better without. 3rd vrs & to me definitely the best looking alloys.20250802_203030.jpg

Standard spec apart from winter pack & a rear wiper to keep it just under 40K!!

New & old 😊

Might be a silly question but….why do you take the wheel aero covers off? I assume you asked the dealer to remove them. Is it so the wheels are easy to clean, or just the look of them? Thanks. 🙂

Just because I think the car looks far better without them, I really don't like the aero covers at all.

Yes,dealer removed them, you need to order a set of wheel nut covers & centre caps

Agree. They’re designed for fuel efficiency, but car looks 100x better without them and on my last motorway run I even reached 45mpg. Not bad for the running in period 😂

Seems like we’ve got quite the Race Blue gang on here.

Yeah, I've had similar on a motorway run & if I was that bothered about mpg I wouldn't have bought a vrs 😊

Yes they look much better without and easier to clean.

Thanks for you replies, I will have a think, I have got until November to decide, when mine should be delivered. 🙂

Congrats @stubev156 what version / spec did you go for?

Hi there, vRS estate, in velvet red, premium winter pack, and electronic tow bar….🙂

Congrats in advance, it’s a cracking car. Fuel economy? Not the point. Long runs? Surprisingly good. Run-in period? Just an excuse to behave… for now.

I have had my current vRS (mk3), from new. It’s by now on 88k, I love it but probably time to change it 🤞, is there a running in period for a new 4.5?

You will find some folk suggest you don't really need to be gentle with it, but I'm sure the handbook says for the first 1000 miles try and keep up it below 3k revs @stubev156 I kept mine below 3k during the first 999 miles then had a blast

Of course per the manual but pretty much as long as you have mechanical sympathy, let the engine oil warm before working it and progressively increase the load and revs and vary them (don’t sit at a constant speed on the motorway for the first 600 miles) you’ll be fine.

Where can you order wheel nut covers and centre caps from? Are they a standard fit or do you need to specify? Thanks.

Looks the business. Did you just get your hand behind the aero covers and pull them out of the alloy below? Or is there a better/different way?

There’s a little tool in the boot to hook behind and pull them off but I just pulled them off by hand. Think you are just supposed to pull from as close to the middle as possible. Came off easy enough.

3 weeks’ time….

Would the aero covers protect your alloy if you kerbed it? Just asking for the wife! 😈🤣
