Virtual Cockpit

Featured Replies

Is anyone having issues getting the map to display in the virtual cockpit? When I try and scroll through the options all I get is a message saying map loading message and a continuous green circle. Have tried rebooting infotainment but to no avail. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue with a new Superb which I’ve had for just under two weeks. Is this something that can be sorted by taking car into Dealership? Any help would be appreciated.

I visited the local dealer today who told me that both they and Skoda were aware of this problem (the dealer said that they had seen it on other new models). There is a very recent software update that Skoda say will correct this but, in my case, it can't be done by the dealer until January. I was going to say that I can't see any reason that a software update needed a dealer but then I thought about it and if the owners were allowed to do the update and  the result was a crash then the litigation would go on for years!

Any updates from anyone else?

Oh well, the car went back to the dealership on the 10th Jan with my expectation that it would be fixed. No such luck! Apparently, the "fix" that the dealer thought would work does not apply to the Superb. Apparently Skoda know of the issue and are working on it. When it the Mk 5 available!

On the plus side, everything else seems to be working well and it is just what it wants to be: a bloody big estate!

Same issue for me. Dealer said Skoda aware and working on a fix but it's not yet available and no ETA

Collected my new estate on 16 December 2024 with the same problem.  Dealer checked with Skoda Technical and the answer is still as above.  Skoda are aware of this problem and are working on it.  Other than that I am blown away with the facilities, detail and quality of my Superb hybrid.  Learning all the time.  Is there a display that shows a fuel gauge?

I got my new estate with the same problem on 10 December, as with the others it's still not fixed and now the Android Auto Maps won't show on the main screen.

John, Can't help you there I'm afraid.  I use Apple CarPlay and all aspects are working fine.  Does your phone link to the cars WiFi for other phone apps?

Yes, other apps show.  The Android Auto Google maps also worked until a few days ago.

Yesterday I had a message on my phone that a new version of Android was available, so I updated to it.

This morning, when starting the car the screen had a message to the effect of New settings are available, do you want to use them? I selected yes and then the Google maps reappeared.

Great, does that mean you have the map view in Virtual dashboard or just the main screen.

Just the main screen, it still doesn't show in the virtual cockpit.

Collected my Superb SEL estate PHEV car on the 29th Jan when the salesman advised me of this issue. On a test drive of the latest Kodiaq I inadvertently hit this problem and assumed I had made some error. Advised another salesman whose car it was but as you might expect he did not tell me it was a SW problem.

It's a little disappointing as Skoda have been aware of this problem for some time ( >4 months?) and it should be an easy fix. Hopefully an OTA update and not a return to Dealership.

Overall I really like the car, obviously early days and still learning all its functionality. I was driving home and noticed it did not  alert  me when passing a speed camera. Phoned the dealer whilst driving and 3 people told me it was not available. Next day I got a message telling me to how to active it and advising they had learnt something- good on them for getting back to me.

3 heat settings on the steering wheel - a joy - I'm easily pleased.

How do you activate speed camera alerts?

As sent by salesman:

Thanks. Swiped sideways on the vehicle page and found a 2nd page with Traffication on it. Only option not available was Driving Wrong Way. Good tip.
