I have recently purchased an immaculate 2003 Fabia Comfort 1.2 HTP with only 40,000 miles on the clock that starts perfectly. Can anyone advise on any anomalies, common problems with this particular vehicle type? Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Keep up with oil changes, and make sure the cooling system is in good condition.

 

As mentioned in your other thread, which version of 1.2 HTP is it? 

It's a 1.2 Comfort. it had its last oil change about 2000 miles ago. I've checked all connections to expansion tank & pump, they appear to be Ok. I can't fault the car at this stage with exception to a very, very slight whine from the g/box. It's not any particular gear which is why at the cars mileage I cannot complain.
