Featured Replies

My 2003 Superb 1.9 TDi Pd's Rear cigarette lighter/or auxillary supply Has stopped working yet the other two ( front and boot) are fine. does this rear seat one have it'sown fuse, if so nay clues as to where to find it?

Many thanks

Don't want to state the obvious but have you checked the fuse box mate, all the fuses are labelled?

Is it linked to whether the rear electric windows are disabled?

All 3 of these outlets on my 03 superb elegance are routed through the one fuse. If the other two oultets are working ok, suggest one possibility might be that the lighter (rather than the socket) in the rear could be faulty. You might want to put the front lighter part into the rear socket to test if power is there.

Note: According to my manual, the outputs are 'live' irrespective of whether the ignition is on or the key is in position. This is another reason why kids should never be left alone in the vehicle - little fingers pressing buttons can have dire consequences.

Good luck

LOL, now that is funny!!

No mate.

My rear cigarette lighter failed on my former Superb, it was replaced under warranty, but i dont use it anyway, was just playing with it one day, and found out that it didnt work.

Hi, I had the same problem on my Octavia, im an electrician so as you can guess I spent many a hour scratching my head try to workout why when everything looked ok i couldnt get the damned thing to work, it wasnt till a friend at work who had the same car pointed out even though cigerette lighter is between the front seats it can still be accessed from the back seats so as a safety precaution it is isolated when the rear windows are switched off so the little angels in the back cant play with that either, Havent tried it on my Superb but wouldnt be surprised if theyve done the same here too.

Well of that is the case it's a good safety feature, anyone proved this in their Superb yet?

Have you made sure the convienience switch is not operated on the drivers armtest it disables the rear windows its unclear from the posts whether this has been tried - its the long sausage shaped button

Yes I have tried the rear window defeat (long sausage button) and without success. it did defeat the rear windows but when enabled I still had no power to rear 12volt socket Back to the drawing board!!!!

My mate has one of these and we are in the same boat! tried pulling panels apart to trace the wiring, but no joy!

HELP!!!!!!

FOUND THE FUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you remove the dial switch which activates you headlamps and also remove the fuse panel cover (to let light in) you can see the hidden blighter!

It is a 20A fuse that appears to be a afterthought.

Once you let light in look directly though where there lightswitch used to be. you can see the hiding fuse at about the eleven o'clock position smiling at you :-)

You do need to remove part of the lower dashboard trim to chnage this but its no big deal.

Enjoy..

05 Elegance.

I've the same problem.

Any pointers on exactly where it's located? How is the headlamp rotary switch removed?

I've got my hand in and had a feel around with no luck.

Any advice?

That's it !!! My little son was playing with the control panel and pressed the switch. I couldn't work out what's wrong for couple days :-)

I checked the cigarette fuse, relay, stripped off the lighter's housing.

I even stripped off the relay. Now I understood why the relay has a two-position solenoid switch - one position for blocking rear windows, the second for the cigarette lighter.

Thanks for the post mate!
