Wet driver side rear footwell after car wash

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently purchased a 2012/2013 seat Toledo IV 1.6tdi, after taking it through a car wash the rear driver side footwell had a small but pretty wet puddle on the carpet, anyone with a Skoda rapid or Toledo experienced this, if so where did you find the water ingress coming from?

Never had this but there was a persistent problem with early models where the doors fill with water due to the door seals blocking the drainage holes. Are you experiencing this problem and is the water leaking from the doors into the footwell ?

We had gone over the main problem areas (wind shield, window seals, doors, and front scuttle panel) couldn’t see any issue with the door seals when pouring water over it with a jerry can full of water and a jet wash but couldn’t seem to replicate it, all the water seemed to be draining off via the drainage channels before the seals, although I need to take the front door card off because the previous owner appeared to add some aftermarket alarm complete with crappy fitting LED so the front door card seem to be hanging off slightly at the bottom. annoyingly i managed to snap the outer b pillar trim clip brackets  (that according to  the seat/skoda workshop manual, are expected to break with each removal 🫠 nice one Skoda haha) so need to wait for those to be fixed with some plastic glue and some new trim clips, then I’m gonna run it through the same car was again but not get the underside washed 1st, see if that makes a difference and then do one with a underside wash just in case there is a missing bung or something. Sorry for the long reply I thought it best to detail everything that’s happened and where I am at now in hopes of some resolution, because aside from this and the small rust patch I am getting fixed in the next couple of months, I love this car!
