Elroq: Who else has ordered?

Featured Replies

I have a question for all the tech wizzards amongst you. Can you use ACC without the Traffic Sign Recognition? We have a problem, thanks mainly to the SNP Government. The speed limit in Scotland for HGV's is 40MPH as opposed to 50MPH for the rest of the UK. To emphasize the point, they put a road sign every few miles on major trunk roads, showing HGV 40. The car obviously sees the 40, but doesn't understand HGV. In 80 odd miles of A75 between Stranraer and Dumfries, there's probably 20 signs in either direction. Same situation with the A77 between Stranraer and Glasgow.

In the instruction book, it says that you can get the car to ignore the speed sign if, at the point where the display comes up with 40 detected, you either pull the ACC lever towards you, or press the button on the end of the ACC stalk. That's a pain in the butt as you can't do it quick enough so the car still slows marginally and you get the annoying warning noises for a mile or more until it decides the speed limit is back to 60. Any help would be appreciated

Had front and rear dash cams fitted yesterday. Kenwood bundle with the DRV-A610W front + rear and hardwire kit. £237 for the hardware + £168 for fitting. Also got the all weather rubber floor mats which look pretty good quality plus front and rear mudflaps ( we needed these as we live in the country close to a dairy so roads are usually splattered with cow poop)(doesn't wash off easily once it's Sun dried)

They gave us a newish Kodiaq as a courtesy car.. That was a strange experience, I guess mainly because we're now used to driving electric. The delay you get with stop start seemed strange after the instant pull away with electric. A 1500cc petrol engine tryng shift a car that size through the countryside was less than exciting. It did have, hiding away in the glovebox, the wiper for the infotainment screen. but, unlike the up market version that TAP got from ebay, it was just a dry wiper without the spray.. I'd ordered from Ebay after TAPs advice and they turned up yesyterday.

That is good to get dashcam sorted. I spent the weekend trying to install a new dashcam as well as previous one as last resort but just would not work via the USB-C in the Elroq ( i do not want hardwired) .I note other people having same issue via feedback. Have sent dashcam back for refund and will leave it for now. Disappointing. Did not even know mudflaps was an option..forgot about that but could really do with it..talking of floor mats i have just realised today none of my floormats (with possible exception of boot ) have Elroq on them..i was sure i did see promotional shots to the contrary..must have dreamt it.

Intersting that the rubber mats do have Elroq printed on them

Finally got ours delivered today. Ordered from Tusker, due end of March then moved to end of April...delivered 30th April.

Received mine today, ordered 21 January. Looking forward to getting to know EV driving.

85 Edition with Plus Pack in Timiano Green.

Very happy to have it finally sitting on the drive!

I'm sure you'll love EV driving. Ours went in for fitting dash cams last week and they lent us an ICE Kodiaq and we found it quite alien after the Elroq.

I've still to see one in Timiano Green so pictures would be good. Enjoy!!

Does anyone know what should be here, inside the boot lid, there seems to be something missing but I don't know what?

ice scraper, same as the enyaq

you will never really need it as you can pre heat the car

No, sorry the ice scraper is on one side, that is right in the middle of the inside of the boot lid, for a warning triangle or something similar in other cars I've had.

For countries where a warning triangle is a legal requirement.

BMW / MINI still put them in cars in the UK because that is just 'Simply Clever' for not much money.

I thought it was something like that, just looks a bit like something is missing now I've noticed it.

Are you happy with the dashcams? Was there a choice of dashcams they provided? May ring dealer and go through to parts section for advice as 2 dashcams i have tried do not work via USB-C in front. Have asked Skoda direct for the technical specs of the USB-C ports but no reply yet.

Last week I ordered an Elroq Edition 85 in Graphite Grey with Advanced Pack and Winter Pack.

Dealer thinks three to four months for delivery…

Anyone have a price for mud flaps front and rear with fitting?

Hi TAP, I'h have to say it's been a bit of a disaster. We went for the Kenwood DRV-A610W bundle. The dash cam is very compact, which in some ways is good, but if you want any information from the drivers seat, you have to lift your bum off the seat and lean over to have a look.Unfortunately, simply clever Skoda thinks you're out of the car and switches off the ignition, and of course, the dash cam goes off. I downloaded the app onto my phone, but I haven't managed to get the app and the dash cam talking to each other. Undeterred, I thought I'd download the software so that I could view on my laptop, but it wouldn't download as you need Windows 11 and my lapytop is Windows 10. If I'm honest and had the time again, I probably wouldn't bother.

Hi Steve153. Welcome to the Elroq club. I have mudflaps front and rear, but I didn't get a price for fitting as the Sales guy said the Workshop would rip us off. Price of the mudflaps including VAT was £120.80. Fitting isn't too difficult, but you do need to take the wheels off. There's a couple of screws to take out of each mudguard liner and the mudflaps fit on these + there's a couple of holes to drill in each liner for push-in plastic fixings which presumably stops them fllapping in the wind.

Thanks @Bowdie (I’d already looked up the cost of the flaps) unfortunately I’m not in possession of a beefy enough trolley jack so was asking for costs. I’ve asked our salesman what he can do for us, so will see what comes of that first…

Fair enough...i am going to try an adaptor USB-C to 12v ..even though mixed reviews ...not having much luck..if the adaptor does not work i will give up ..just not meant to be.

Was parking at home yesterday when a message popped up asking if i wanted auto parking so i said yes as it remembered my previous parking at home. It was very unnerving..surprised how fast it was..i had to hit the brakes as it came so close to my front step...be a while before i try that again.

Thats a good plan. Get it organised before you get the car. I made the mistake of paying for the car before asking what I could get. Obviously, at that stage, I couldn't get anything without paying through the nose.

Absolutely, we gave the salesman a list of must haves before agreeing to the deal.

To be fair he has come up with a good price on flaps, boot liner, rubber mats, scuff plates and charge port cover. We had a reasonable PX price and a good discount so quite pleased so far. Just waiting on the fitting costs for the flaps…

Shame there is no over ride switch about the seat and car turning off..even a delay would have been good. Bad enough no front 12v socket and then having the dashcam turn off as you lean over to it..must be mega frustrating.I understand how Skoda thought it was a good idea just surprised so many car manufacturers give so little thought to dashcams in general. I am genuinely surprised the Govt. has never considered making it a legal requirement for cars to have dashcams fitted at factory build or at car dealers before handover. Good you got the VW branded screen cleaner..bit of a bargain compared to VW RRP.

Hi Luckypants, I finally got around to fitting the mudflaps. Not sure how many pics I'll be able to attachIMG_2020.JPG

Looking good! Easy job?

I suppose it took longer removing/refitting the wheels than fitting the flaps🤔

I haven’t looked underneath one but did you need a suv extension for extra height on the trolley jack?

It's an easy enough job, but the wheels are heavy. Front wheels are the worse as you can't stop the hubs turning when you're trying to put the wheels back on. I used a pretty standard 2 tonne aluminium trolly jack and it did the job ok. Just read both sets of instructions as on the fronts you use two existing screws and drill two new holes for plastic plugs. For the rear you use three existing screws and drill one hole for a plastic plug.

Thanks @Bowdie hopefully won’t have to do it myself. Looks like my dealer will do a deal for me with the flaps and fitting combined with some additional extras I want…

Tip for the front wheel issue - get someone to stand by the driver door and press the brake pedal with only one foot in the car, doesn’t need much pressure to stop them turning to line up the studs.
