Tyre air pump .

Featured Replies

I have a 2019 Karoq and fir the first time since I purshased it in that year I used the Tyre air pump that was in the boot.

Did everything as per instructions and inflated the tyre to the required pressure so turned off unit.

Realised I had made a mistake in not putting enough air in and turned the unit back on.Problem was it did not come back on.

Made sure everything was connected but no joy.Anyone know the unit will not restart?

You have likely blown the fuse, the pumps take a substantial current and are on the limit of the rated supply, restarting when hot against pressure is often too much, the pumps dont last long either before cooking their windings with the same result.

I once used one which had a long lead to inflate an air mattress in my tent, the power lead melted through the tent groundsheet.

Sorry.any idea where i can locate the fuse?

In the fusebox, the its location, the fuse number and rating will be in the owners manual if you have one, if not then ask Google.

A while after buying my Karoq MY2019, I tried the supplied tyre inflater and it blew a fuse straight awat.  I contacted my local Skoda dealer in Walthamstow - on a Saturday afternoon and they said come round, there and then.  I hadn't used them before but they replaced the inflator with what seemed to be an Audi model.  They also replaced the fuse while they were at it - all FOC.  Fuse has never blown since on using the replacement inflator.  It looks like this might not be an isolated problem with the original supplied unit.

Also, I was so impressed with the dealer, I've used them ever since - maybe one or 2 nidggles but overall I'm staying with them.  I hadn't actually bought the car from them, as I didn't know they existed at the time.
