Featured Replies

Anyone know what this part is called, I can’t seem to find it in any parts catalogue

Try “ air intake guide duct inlet” or similar play on words?

Looks like similar things on eBay for other vw models or try car breakers?

Remove your undertray and you may well find it lying there.

Does this help?

I believe it to be an Air intake duct.

They are not expensive, but those wee tabs are very flimsy.

Agreed.

They serve a purpose that is unknown to many, if you ever have no choice but to drive through a deep flood then removal of said flap will prevent water being sucked up into the cylinders through the much lower air intake and wrecking the engine, this is more a problem with a diesel engine than petrol.

Thanks for the replies, have been trying to find a replacement from a donor without success so I might have to order one from the dealer
