Screenwash and rear wiper fuse?

Featured Replies

My screenwash has stopped working! It has fluid because I filled it up quite recently and it hasn't warned me that it is low. I don't think the tank, filter or jets are blocked as I can't hear the motor running (I had the filter blocked before and the motor still ran). It isn't frozen because it's been about +7 degrees for a few days npw. Also, the rear wiper (and screenwash) has stopped working so I'm pretty sure it's something electrical.

As it's currently cold and dark outside can someone advise the following please 1) where are the fuses?! 2) what fuse do I need to replace?

Thanks all!

Mine froze up in the very cold weather when I didn't have a strong enough screenwash mix. I found that there are no fuses for it, the Body Control Module just disables it. After adding screen wash and allowing it to defrost, it started working again for me.

I just noticed that you were asking about the rear wiper, that has a fuse located in the fuse box behind the glovebox.

According to my records, the Rear Wiper fuse is number 66. I would try looking at that first. Good luck.

There is another post that may be of interest. My front washer stopped but motor running, rear very weak with little water flow.

More likely blocked jets hence pump working but no fluid. All my Skodas have had ‘this problem because the tube to the washer jets has a metal right angle end which corrodes. The hatch lid trim has to be levered free to get access - not difficult. I’ve not had trouble with the Mk 4 but I assume it will be the same. I remove the wiper jets periodically and operate the rear washer to flush the tube.

Possibly but both fronts stopped at the same time suggesting it's not the jets. Will have a look tomorrow anyway.

Both the screenwash and rear wiper started working again the following day after turning the car off and on again. So a weird software issue (for a change) it would appear.
