Lost all Audio Sound

Featured Replies

2023 (73) Superb L&K (canton)

Head unit works fine but absolutely zero sound from anything, ive even tried to select different ringtones and nothing.

Its a 2.0 diesel not that this should mean anything.

P.S tried a reboot by holding power button too.

Anyideas?

Fuse number 27 is "Audio amplifier" ? It maybe that?

Just an update this happened whilst i was travelling, when stopped and engine turned off to visit a fuel station all came back on as normal ?

So currently working again.

Strange .

Good to have it back. Was that just a one-off? Do you know what software version you have?

Not sure ill let you know when check it again .

Sometimes ive experienced a bit of interference on DAB then i changed Radio stations akd still there then it was there for a call, i ended up rebooting it and it went.

sadly the MIB3 units, which u have, r notorious for misbehaving like this.

a firmware upgrade might b ur long term fix/solution.

Is that a trip to the dealer for an upgrade?

Just jumping in here, mine packed up this evening.  Went out, parked the car, everything was fine. Got back in the car three hours later, no sound output at all.

Will check the fuse tomorrow in day light and or hope it resets over night

Otherwise it's off to the dealer 🙄 (unless anybody has another fix ?)

Well, all smiles here, went out to the car this morning and everything was working.

On one hand that is good but I'd like to know (and Solve) the issue rather than worry that every time I walk away from her, it may fail 😒

I'll keep an eye on it

  • 2 weeks later...

I had the same problem infotainment all worked and displayed everything but no sound from the Radio or the Hands Free, Took it to an Audio specialist and he said that there was something wrong with the unit in the Glove Compartment. £600 and 2 weeks later all back in and working. Hope this helps somehow

Glade you got it fixed, do you know what he charged you for, parts wise ?? Should be on the invoice. Thanks M

Glad !!

Have you tried holding the power button until the system resets?
I’ve seen that fixing the no sound issue for a while.

No, didn't try that as the system restored itself overnight. However, I'll file it under 'good to know', thank you

Interested to know what the actual cause of the problem is ?

Mine does it every now and then. I’ve put it down to a comms error when connecting at startup. If it happens when using CarPlay, it sometimes rectifies if I ask Siri to play all songs. Only ever had the entire system go blank once, and a reset corrected that as well.
im assuming something doesn’t wake up as quickly as the other units in the entertainment system, and causes the problem. A reset by holding the power button until the screen goes blank, and then pressing the power button to bring the system back on again, seems to allow the unit to wake up and then connect properly.
could be a software issue as well, as mine refused to allow updates via the USB or SD and just claimed no files found, so I gave up.

Have you guys got up to date Software? For MIB3 that's now 332. Although tbh I've had version 276 (utter garbage), 306, 330 and now 332 and they've all been ok except 276 which made  (It now connects to Carplay immediately, then drops it, then reconnects and is fine from then on.

Not sure what the latest is for MIB2.5 though - has a different version numbering system. Possibly using the Cyrillic alphabet

No. Refuses to recognise the update file via usb or sd.
I’ll end up buying a token and updating it via my mates diagnostic in the workshop when I get a chance or more than likely, when I’m forced to. lol.

Sorry for the late reply but no the invoice states repair post and packaging but all in was £309.50 as far as I remember and looking through my emails the guy said the chip / board was just failing as electrics do, Mine started of just not having audio now and then sometimes it would just pop on when driving for 2 hours sometimes never. Until it was more or less of and that is when I had enough. I tried all the usual tricks with fuses and restarting the unit by holding the power button down etc, But in the end the day its the unit failing the in the glovebox not the actual infotainment system.

Hope this helps any question feel free

I honestly think its a software issue .

Mine was lost when i discovered it whilst travelling on the M1 .

Tried a soft reboot ( hold power button ) and it didnt work.

What did work was when i stooped to fill up and turned the engine off and 5 mins later started it up all was fine .

Its a glitch and has to be firmware imo.
