Is this meant to do something?????

Featured Replies

Does this serve any purpose? located above the two USB ports and storage tray? Is it meant to do something like light up or blow air through it (Like the newer Tiguans) because it does nothing on my January ‘22 MY22 vRS.

There's an LED in there in VW Golfs but not in the Octavia.

Maybe its UK octavias that don't have the LED then...

My car had an issue with this led light being off and on randomly. I think it was sorted out with one of the updates.

Ah so it looks like it's not part of the UK spec but is standard in the European spec....... If i'm honest it doesn't bother me it not working as i like it being dark down in that location and the thought of the LED reflecting back up from my phone screen is something that would just annoy me.

I would be really surprised if installation of that little led light depends on a market of delivery.

In my European Octavia ( MY21 ) the spot is populated

My NZ car also has the light. I learnt that spec can be very different for each market. For example I have KESSY on all 4 doors but have read complaints from some they only have it on the front.

@blackh0le  Is that Continental European but not a UK European model?

It depends if you have wireless charger or not.

For the ones without, there is no LED.

Fascinating 😁

You would think it would cost more to have the option or not and out the light in or not than the minor saving of not making the Qi charger standard.
