Apple Music - CarPlay Artwork

Featured Replies

Hi All

Had my 2024 Octavia estate for a week. CarPlay was working seamlessly until I did the 1985 update.

Since then the carplay cockpit display doesn't change the artwork of the song. instead just keeps the artwork of the fist song that was played.

The main dashboard screen however does change, so I know CarPlay is talking to the infotainment system.

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas on how to solve it?

Hi!

Yes I have the same symptoms with my VC after the Update. Also no more Calls get displayed in the Cockpit Display, and you can't use the Cockpit screen to start calls, hang up.

Did you check for fault codes?

No. I'm new to having a Skoda.

Where and how do i find them?

What am i looking for? If there is a fault code, what do i do?

Ah, I meant with an OBD dongle like OBDeleven or VCDS

So I think only the Dealer can tell you what's wrong

I don't have a OBD dongle but i can assume i have the same fault.

Do you know if this would have to be a Skoda firmware update or apple airplay update to solve it.

That’s what I trying to find out, since this Problem appeared.

Maybe someone with the same problem which got solved reads this and can tell us.

Can’t imagine this CarPlay album Cover problem is so minimal under users with the 1985 Update

I'm not using the car today but I'll try and remember to check what mine does tomorrow when I'm out. I'm running v1985 on the Infotainment and had the VC firmware updated a few weeks ago under warranty due to having the flickering gauges issue so will have the latest VC firmware installed too. (Coincidentally I know the album art changes fine in the VC when it's media files via the USB as I used that the other day but not checked CarPlay).

Also is the issue happening when connected wirelessly or via cable or both?

Yes, when iPhone connected over Bluetooth the Album Cover and Titel gets displayed right and fast. The Radio Station Logos and item Infos is also no Problem.

Just to follow up on this. I tried both CarPlay over WiFi and CarPlay over cable today and get the same result as per others with both….. VC track info stays on first track.

Media played from USB stick works fine and updates track by track in the VC.

As mentioned before I’m on Infotainment v1985 and have had the VC firmware updated last month to the latest firmware. I’m unable to say it started with v1985 though as I’ll be honest I always have torque and power figures displayed in my dials on the VC rather than what’s playing. 😁

Thanks for the follow up. Maybe a bug in 1985? Or are only manual updates having this problem and OTA everything works?

So you got the update to "3470" because of the flickering of the VC?

My Infotainment updated automatically OTA a couple of months ago.

Yes the TPI for the flickering gauges instructs the dealership to update the VC firmware to either 3470 (2021 year cars) or 5370 (2022 year cars). As mine is a MY22 January 2022 car I suspect it will be the latter on mine.

I'm still on 1941, with the the updated VC firmware on my 2021 Octavia. I've just checked CarPlay and the VC updates with the track and correct artwork when the track changes. It takes a second or two to update after the Infotainment, but it does update correctly.
