Is it a bad idea to remove the cat completely and have a cat replacement pipe fitted ?

BAd in what way?Mine had no CAT and was lovely :D

I was told that the cat has a sensor before and after the cat and the one after senses that the cat has changed the molecular compound and that feeds back to the ecu

Basically does the car work fine without the cat ?

Seems yours did but has anyone had problems with this

The car will work fine but the engine warning light will be on all the time. It will also be very noisy in the car.

Can't you get higher flow rate Cats these days.

Yes, you can.

Sounds like a better option that won't lead to MOT emissions issues come MOT time then ;)

Go for a 100cel one as mine has caused me no problems come MOT time....but then i`m an MOT tester:P

you mean you dont have to conveniently have another car running at side of yours when its MOT time then :P :D

No with a 100cel, air con off and a quick thrash it sailed through;)

I have a 100cel cat and 3'' downpipe....went through MOT no probs.

I have a de cat pipe on mine and it is no noisier than standard, honest, and I have NO warning lights on the dash.........All I have to do is some spanner work before it's MOT
